...promising Russian trip hop...,

This may surprise you but I don't get many trip hop power pop albums from Khabarovsk, Russia. Really. And, stranger still, it's really good. At least it is when they get the songs spot on.I'm listening to a six song sampler and only 'Teddy Bear' completely misses the mark. They seem a little unsure about who they want to be as the songs tend to be either trip hop or power pop, rather than a blend. But with a truly excellent singer in the shape of Evgenya Strochinskaya and one out and out killer tune in 'Flyin Away', this time the Russians may really be coming! Check them out. |
