5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a chance to get a grip!
This book is a great tutorial for anyone, but is especially wonderful for women. Ms. Hayden helps examine the money lessons and money attitudes women have grown up with so that taking control of finances comes from the inside and is about more than just money. She then makes the money very basic and understandable and puts the work easily into your hands. This book...

money ways and actions learned while growing up may indeed be a cause of the way you manage your finances now; this book is a very poor tool in getting those practices turned around. i find this reading to be very boring and repetitive, and no help to myself to better my financial situation at this time. i hope the workshops are much better done than this book is...

Ms. Hayden helps examine the money lessons and money attitudes women have grown up with so that taking control of finances comes from the inside and is about more than just money. 5.0 out of 5 stars Using her system for the last 7 years...., July 25, 2003

This review is from: How to Turn Your Money Life Around: The Money Book for Women (Paperback)
This book was recommended to me years ago when I found my financial life changed from a divorce. I implemented Ruth's system and have been following it ever since. It was a little difficult at first (her theory goes that you spend only what you have, therefore you're not hedging your bets on money coming in), she makes you save for what you want...if you see a new pair of shoes and don't have enough money in your "shoes/clothes" account that week, you'll have to wait until you do! It gets to be kind of fun in a way because you're working towards goals. At any rate, I've used this for over the past seven years and my financial situation has stabilized; I'm not sure it would have without the guidance found in this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gets to the source of your money problems., July 31, 2003

This review is from: How to Turn Your Money Life Around: The Money Book for Women (Paperback)
Clearly written, easily understood, and loaded with practical, do-able suggestions, this book goes right to the source of most women's money problems.

It may come as a surprise to some readers of the book, but the source of our money problems is --ourselves!

This book helps readers to face that fact, and then goes on to help them implement solutions to their problems.

An encouraging book, chock full of good advice.

She gives you fomulas to use in budgeting. She also helps you figure out weekly how to budget so you stay on track with your spending. She also breaks down you expenses even further. This is the first time I've ever seen it broken down to this detail. It helps you get your yearly expenses broken down into more detail.
