Editorial Reviews

Review

****"Turnagain Love has some fascinating twists and turns, unexpected complications, and charming scenes."  Scribes World

****"Turnagain Love is a wonderful study of contrasts and romantic opposites."  Affaire de Coeur

From the Author

Turnagain Love was my first published book and the first of the Sisters of Spirit series. A romantic comedy, this story does not have the suspense that my later books have. It contains a simple mystery--why they can't get hold of their employers--as my focus was on writing with humor. This is a gently funny book, one you can share with your teenage daughter or your elderly mother. And your husband. For some reason men really like my books.

It is dedicated to my husband Walt, who encouraged my writing, and who left this earth in 2011.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Romance July 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book! So wonderful to read a "clean" romance, a page-turner where I couldn't wait to see what happens next. I really identified with Jennel's character. And it's a book I can feel good about my 13 year old daughter reading and passing along to her friends. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Romance At It's Finest! March 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
What happens when you mix romance and mayhem? Turnagain Love, and oh, what a hunk Zack is! Author Nancy Radke introduces the characters in a way that you known there's an uh-oh on every page. This story has just enough angst to keep you worried that things won't work out, and just enough humor to make you love Jennel and Zack. Turnagain Love is a sweet romance that will give you a wonderful evening of happiness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous! July 16, 2012
By Emma
Format:Paperback
I absolutely loved this book! Although I have personally never been a fan of romance novels, I enjoyed the refreshingly clean story line, and found this book impossible to put down! I also would have no problem allowing my teen to read this, as well. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good contemporary romance June 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the first book in a series and it stood well on it's own. Zack and Jennel are both hired to do essentially the same job, he's hired by the husband and she's hired by the wife. When they both show up on a remote island off Seattle, sparks fly and tempers soar. Neither one appreciates being told that they both have a contract for the same job. But as things cool down, they realize that Jenell's specialty is interiors and Zack's is exteriors and construction, so they can work out compromise if it's okay with the clients. As they try to get in touch with the elusive clients, they are enjoying each other's company way too much for comfort.
The plot is character driven, there is good character development and I felt the main characters were well rounded, and the book was well written.
Heat factor mild.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good story January 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This had humor, fairly decent plot. A little far-fetched in places but a good story about people trying to make their way in the world and finding love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sisters #1 August 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm a fan of Nancy Radke and love her clean reading romances.
I have read several of the others books in this series before this one. This series is one that you can jump around from book to book and not get confused and mixed up. I downloaded this book for free and enjoyed it.

Jennel is down on her luck with starting her company until she is hired buy a classy lady to make her husband's vacation home into something she can enjoy also. Jennel is in shock when she discovers how much work it needs. Until she meets Zack who was hired by the lady's husband to redo the house. Now they are stuck on an island until they can reach the couple and clear up the misunderstanding.

I'm a meat and potatoes kind of girl, so I love when a story has substance and instead of explicit sex scenes they have a tentative sexual spark. Read more

More About the Author

Nancy Radke grew up on a wheat and cattle ranch in SE Washinton State. She attended a one-room country school through the eighth grade. She learned to ride bareback at age 3 (Really! It was a common practice.) and when she got off or fell off, she would pull her horse's nose to the ground, get on behind its ears, and the horse would lift its head so she could scoot down onto its back. She spent most of her childhood exploring the Blue Mountain trails that bordered the ranchlands. She and a friend once took a trail that turned out to be a two day trip. They always rode with matches and pocket knives, so made camp and returned the next day. These long rides worried her parents, but provided plenty of time to make up stories. Her first novel was set in the Blues, and is entitled APPALOOSA BLUES. TURNAGAIN LOVE was the first one published. It rated a four star review from Affaire de Coeur. Scribes World said "Turnagain Love has some fascinating twists and turns, unexpected complications, and charming scenes." It is light and humorous.

Her next book was CLOSED DOORS, a novel about a man who couldn't read. This was especially interesting to Ms. Radke, as she taught remedial reading, sixth grade, and other classes as a school teacher. All her stories are linked by characters who know each other from book to book. For example, Zack and Jennel show up in two more books besides TURNAGAIN LOVE. Also her books have a theme, such as the theme for TENNESSEE TOUCH, which is that just being alive is dangerous, so you can't be so cautious that you miss out on life. Her favorite character is Hugo, who is the hero in SONGS FOR PERRI. Hugo shows up in SPIRIT OF A CHAMPION and in the first book of the new BROTHERS OF SPPIRIT series that she is writing with her son, Nolan Radke. (No title yet. Nolan's books are also on Amazon.)

She has gone through survival and outward bound training, including long-distance ocean swimming. Facts from this training shows up in COURAGE DARES and SPIRIT OF A CHAMPION. Her western ranching background shows up in the pioneer series, The Traherns, and APPALOOSA BLUES, which is now available. Her critique group used to say that she talked and wrote backward. This really helped when writing the Traherns, as the dialect seemed very natural. APPALOOSA BLUES, an AMAZON TOP 100 BEST SELLER, is the final book for both the Trahern series and the Sisters of Spirit Series.

Ranch life gives a person a can-do attitude, so when she decided to write and produce a children's Bible on DVD, she never doubted she could do it. Never mind that she had to learn to use a Mac, Photoshop, and the Final Cut Studio programs. The first volume of the SHOW AND TELL BIBLE took eight years to complete. It is two hours long, contains 650 hand-drawn pictures, and gives the impression of a picture book being read by a well-loved parent or grandparent. Little children are absolutely enthralled by it. The second volume is three hours long, 850 pictures, concluding with Esther. It was finished in three years, so she really did manage to speed up.

The feedback from parents and kids has been tremendous. Nancy is working on the third volume now, which will complete the Old Testament. When the entire Bible is finished, she plans to do other children's books on DVD. And for her romance fans, there are more of those coming. For people who love cookbooks, those on Amazon are written by a different lady with the same name.
