In Angel M. Hunter's TURNED OUT, Champaign Rose and Zyair Truesdale are still engaged after five years. Although their love for each other still remains strong, the relationship has grown stale. Looking to heat things up in the bedroom, the two entertain the idea of adding a third party to their sexual play. The anticipation of the threesome is exciting for Zyair, but for Champaign, it has become an obsession. Will the union be harmless fun or will it cause irreparable damage to their relationship?

TURNED OUT is a steamy tale of obsessive desire. The author created believable characters engaging in activities considered taboo. The plot is fast moving with an equally entertaining subplot. There were a few errors in grammar and formatting peppered throughout, but not enough to distract this reader. Lovers of erotica will appreciate this journey into sexual exploration.

4.0 out of 5 stars What u want may not be what u need, September 4, 2007
This review is from: Turned Out (Paperback)
Champaign and Zyair are like most couples that have been together for a while and get used to the routine of their lives, including sex...they figure they need to do something to spice things back up because they still love each other, the fire just isn't as hot as it once was..they finally decide on a trip to Hedo and Zyair if feenin to see Champaign with a woman...it happens, she enjoys, but she wants to know if it was the alcohol or something deep within her...the hunt begins to find someone to experiment once more, and Zyair starts feeling like he bit off more than he can chew..

Turned out was an easy read with realistic characters and realistic situations. I kept flipping the pages because I needed to know what would happen next. I didn't think the ending had much to do with the story overall, but that's just me...

5.0 out of 5 stars words cant' describe how good it was, October 13, 2007
By
This review is from: Turned Out (Paperback)
i really enjoyed this book and i put it off for so long i am glad that i read it. it takes you into what happens in real life when men want to experiment and bring another woman in the picture for a threesome or just to watch. you never know the outcome, the female may like it so much that she becomes curious to test the waters again and again. it is hard for women to express their curiosity in society from the way it is judged today. i really enjoyed how Mrs. Hunter brought into play real life situations. i loved it, loved it loved. some people are making the ending seem like it really didn't have closure. it did it just may not have ended the way you would have liked it to end but it gave closure and you go off in your head to understand how it was going to end.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Taste of a Woman Wins Again.....Maybe, June 18, 2008

Champagne and Zyair experienced what ever couple does, a dry spot in their relationship. Zyair thought switching it up a little and doing something way out there, like bringing another woman into their relationship, would be good for their sex life. Champagne wasn't feeling it at first but Zyair persuaded her and she gave into him. When hey decided to go to Hedonism, neither Champagne nor Zyair knew the turn their lives would take from this encounter and neither was prepared.

Champagne found she liked the taste and feel of another woman. So much so, the notion of it consumed her every thought and she pushed for yet another encounter. Zyair was floored. He liked the idea but felt Champagne liked a woman's touch a little too much. Champagne began to look at every woman as a potential prospect. Side tracked with the task of hiring an assistant for the company she started, Champagne settled on a very sexy Candy, who had bisexual tendencies and who also introduced Champagne to her friend, Sharon. Sharon picked up on Champagne's "lust of a woman" immediately and honed in. Sharon instantly invaded Champagne's aura and while at lunch one day with Champagne, Champagne felt like she could talk to Sharon and disclosed her desires. Sharon's no fool, a ** was a ** and she was feeling Champagne. Champagne wanted to go to strip clubs to entice a woman to go home with her and Zyair. Zyair began to feel insecure and started to question Champagne's intentions.

Coupled with the burning memory of their threesome and the constant hesitance from Zyair to have round two, Champagne began to obsess about her best friend Alexis' boyfriend, Khalil, who left Champagne with an eerie feeling every time he was around her or anytime his name was spoken. Something about him doesn't sit well with her and she was determined to find out what this dude was all about, with the help of Thomas - Zyair's best friend - and the one who loves Alexis the most. Thomas' feelings for Alexis aids in a decision that will compromise his friendship with Zyair.

Friendships are jeopardized by the scent of a woman. Champagne, Zyair, Thomas and Alexis are great examples of what friends are for. Through Zyair and Champagne, it is evident that everything that looks good to you may not be good for you and clearly advises for couples to be on the same page should you venture onto the "other side". Thomas' love for Alexis sits him on the brink of ruining his friendship with Zyair.

All in all the story line was good. It took a minute to get into but once in, I wanted to know what happened. If you are just getting into erotica, Turned Out is a good start. The sex scenes are light and don't straight blast you into eroticism.

The ending was cut short. Would've liked to see what happened with Zyair and Champagne and Thomas and Alexis. Obviously there is a part two which I will be waiting for.

I did like this book, but it kinda left me hanging for wanting more out of it. I would recommend this book to anyone new to reading erotica as a beginner novel.

This book was not as interesting as I thought it would be. As result, I never completed it. It was too predictable and seemed too far-fetched for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor writing, disappointing, July 16, 2010
By
This review is from: Turned Out (Paperback)
Thought this would be a good change of pace from the usual topics (drug dealing, murder/revenge, prostitution) found in the genre "urban lit." While the premise was promising, the execution was poor. Storylines were too short, too choppy, and in some cases, completely unrealistic (as in this would be tough to pull off on a soap opera). Timelines were uneven. There was very little emotional depth in the characters, making them appear as bad caricatures. The quality of the writing showed promise, but the finished product was more of a second draft of a novel, as opposed to a fully realized experience; Who's to blame, author, editor or both? In any case, if you value good writing, strong storylines, fully realized characters, skip this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars JUST OKAY, March 23, 2010

This book was just okay to me. It talked about the typical struggle that some couples have regarding whether or not to allow another into their bedroom for excitement. The book was interesting, but it fell off at some point. The ending definitely left me a little disappointed. In the real world, couples don't forgive each other for everything within a day, move on, and live happily ever after. However, it did make you think about some things regarding relationships.
