About the Author

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Tiffany Snow earned degrees in Education and History from the University of Missouri–Columbia, before launching a career in Information Technology. After nearly fifteen years in IT, she switched careers to what she always dreamed of doing - writing. Tiffany is the author of romantic suspense novels such as the Kathleen Turner Series, which includes No Turning Back, Turn to Me and Turning Point. Since she’s drawn to character-driven books herself, that’s what she loves to write, and the guy always gets his girl. She feeds her love of books with avid reading, yet she manages to spare time and considerable affection for trivia, eighties hair bands, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Elvis. She and her husband have two daughters and one dog whose untimely demise Tiffany contemplates on a daily basis.

More About the Author

I love to stick with characters over a series of books when I read, which is the same way I write. My first series - THE KATHLEEN TURNER SERIES - includes five books, two companion novels, and features a love triangle. My new series, coming from Montlake Romance December 16, 2014, is the TANGLED IVY TRILOGY, beginning with IN HIS SHADOW.

As for me, I've been reading romance novels since I was way too young to read such things, have an unhealthy obsession for all things Doctor Who, prefer Pepsi to Coke and Absolut to both, think men who drink girly cocktails are wusses, have learned to never stop believing in my beloved St. Louis Cardinals, and can recite the entire scripts of When Harry Met Sally and Apollo 13. George Washington is cool, Bon Jovi still rocks the house, and Bruce Willis is the ultimate alpha-male hero. Most of all, romance never, ever gets old.

Kathleen Turner has goals. She moved to Indianapolis to start seeing to them, but things aren't going quite as well as she'd hoped. She's a runner for a high-powered law firm in town, not the most prestigious of positions, but it and her part-time bartender gig at least pays the bills. And one of the senior partners is a dreamboat in that obscenely rich, disturbingly good looking, slightly snobbish sort of way.

Before she did a mortifying face plant in his lap during a meeting, she was quite happy ogling him from afar. After that...well...she was more about the avoiding. And hiding under her desk/in her car/etc. when she catches sight of him. Mature, no. More likely to assure she keeps her job, yes.

She's made some friends in the few months she's been in Indy. One of those friends is her neighbor Sheila. Kathleen can't say she's completely comfortable with Sheila's job choice as a high-dollar escort, but she's grown very fond of the woman.

It's the middle of the night when Kathleen is ripped out of a comfortable sleep at the sound of a loud fight coming from Sheila's apartment. As disturbing as that is, it's the ominous sound of silence afterwards that raises the hair on Kathleen's arms and prevents her from falling back to sleep. Slipping from bed with the intention of making sure everything is okay, Kathleen makes it all the way across to her friend's door and knocks.

The door swinging open under her knock is first sign that something isn't right. Sheila's blood-soaked, throat-slashed body, laid out in her bedroom on sheets still dripping viscous fluid, is the clincher.

Shock and horror are followed quickly by gritty determination when it becomes clear that Sheila's death isn't random, and it isn't the result of a jealous boyfriend.

I bought this book because I liked the beginning, downloaded as a free sample. I was also encouraged by the amount of positive reviews.

It starts well - think "The Firm" or any John Grisham book - with young Kathleen juggling a starter's job at a law firm and a bartending one in the evenings. Plenty of men (all god-handsome apparently) and a horrific murder.
But then, it seemed to me the story morphs into a collection of violent-versus-sexy moments between Kathleen, the main character, and the different dark, mysterious men in her life. I really had a problem with Kathleen's responsiveness to men who were, mere seconds ago, ruthless or even threatening with her , it was a hardly believable reaction. (Or a very twisted, unhealthy one).
Plus, the sheer number of such encounters : attack/threat/sneer followed by breathlessness, weak knees and physical desire - became a little silly to me (I mean how many times can you faint and be carried in a gorgeous man's arms and/or be almost raped, over the course of a week?)
So, I thought that part went really over the top. It spoiled the story for me, I'm definitely not reading the rest of the series.

The title of this book is very appropriate- once you start to read Tiffany Snow's premiere novel there is absolutely no turning back from her work!

This author is going to take the world by storm! I spent an entire day devouring this book, and as soon as I was finished with it I wanted to read it all over again. I love romantic suspense novels but typically find that they either have great romance with a sub-par mystery or vice versa, but No Turning Back delivers on all fronts! This book is equal parts romance, mystery, and suspense. There's intense romance, a true mystery, incredible suspense, and wonderful and sexy characters to boot. Not to mention that her protagonist, Kathleen, is one of the most relatable main characters I've read in a long time. What is most appealing about Kathleen is that her involvement in the action makes total and complete sense. You can completely see how an "average" woman could get pulled into the fray and get involved with solving the mystery and unveiling the truth. Kathleen's naivety, desire to see the good in everyone, and her fierce loyalty are just some of the characteristics that makes her so unique.

No Turning Back has a wonderful storyline that honestly keeps you guessing from start to finish. Both Kathleen and the reader struggle throughout the entire novel wondering who can be trusted. There is nothing predictable in this novel. Once you begin to think that you know who can be trusted and why things are happening, Snow throws another curve ball and leaves you wondering what is going to happen and how everything is going to make sense in the end.

So, I downloaded this free for my Kindle, and was hoping for a half decent book. Man was I surprised with this book! The characters are are engrossing, the dialog believable, and the love scenes and almost love scenes are, well, let's just say they don't disappoint :-)! I read the second installment as well and can't wait for more! Great job!!! (I don't usually write reviews, but felt this book deserved a great one!)
