Intriguing and well-written, November 16, 2010
This review is from: Turning Home: God, Ghosts and Human Destiny (Paperback)
Turning Home is a well-written work that blends some philosophy, metaphysics, physics, and accounts of paranormal phenomena. Mr. Eno is a well-respected researcher in the field, and his curious nature lets him ask questions other researchers have failed to ask. The application of quantum mechanics to the field of paranormal research transforms the entire experience. For the first time, we have a theory that makes use of actual science.
What if the paranormal is entirely normal? In a quantum universe, or multiverse, the paranormal is just par for the course. What you see as a ghost could be a regular, living being from another time and place (elsewhen). There are some compelling accounts in this book, but Mr. Eno's philosophical musings really hit home.
If you're curious about the paranormal but suspicious of the standard explanations and whatnot, give this book a read and let it simmer for a bit.
The only downside is the length of the work. Something of this magnitude deserves a tome four times the size. The pace and ease of the writing lets you swim through the pages in one sitting.
