Book Description

September 1, 1999 Turning Points in World History
Differences in political, social, economic, and religious beliefs led the colonists in America to seek independence from Great Britain. This successful determination influenced liberal thought throughout Europe at the time and encouraged other revolutions to break out. (20020701)

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Gr 9 Up-This is not the place to look for a history of battles, biographies of who-did-what, or Colonial anecdotes. Instead, The American Revolution contains 16 essays by well-known historians that center on the background, politics, and effects of the war. There is an extensive section of documents (Stamp Act resolutions, excerpts from first-person accounts, Articles of Confederation, etc.). An excellent resource for research.-Linda Beck, Indian Valley Public Library, Telford, PA
