Why hasn't this been reviewed? I found a copy of this and it sounded interesting and threw it in a mix (addicted to the shuffle...) and found myself gravitating toward certain songs that had this bluesy, hip hop kind of electronica over jazz sound that caused me to wonder who it was. Lo and behold, these songs all came from this album.

It is infectious and is so smooth and so cool, not in a poser kind of way, but in the kind of way when you hear an artist that sounds fresh. Get this, put it on and I guarantee you'll be humming along. It stands out from the din of the musical soundscape today.

Way cool, way good.

Some funk, some Northern soul, some rock, some hip-hop -- but the end result is all Belleruche. "Northern Girls" has a groove that doesn't quit, with breathy vocals with a off-kilter jazz rhythm to them, and "Bump" has percussion that sounds almost live when thrown in with the wah-wah guitar. The horns that kick off "Minor Swing" are like a crazy big band. They seem to prefer syncopated rhythms, which gives their tracks a certain perky swing: listen to how "Bird Mess" emphasizes the downbeat. Even when they're more straightforward on the beat, like on "The Itch," Ricky Fabulous' guitar keeps things moving. The smooth "It'll Come" glides just like hot butter on a plate, and "Bought & Sold" ends the album on pure funk. Juicy.

I LOVED THIS CD ,EVERY SONG WAS FULL OF ENERGY OR SEXY,YOU COULD DANCE OR JUST SIT BACK AND ENJOY I LOVE IT.
