Terrific, March 16, 2006
This review is from: Turntables on the Hudson 4 (Audio CD)
Perfect music for a variety of home events. Dinner, party, what have you. Smooth transitions, good melodies, engaging beats. A winner. Standouts are Let It Ride by Marzebian, String Vibe by Plastyc Budda, Jesus El Beat by The Local, and One For Senegal by The Pleb.
To make it even more exciting, you can't beat that price. You certainly get your money's worth - probably even more!

thoughtful, humane and funky, August 31, 2006
This review is from: Turntables on the Hudson 4 (Audio CD)
Vol 4, like most T on the H releases, is likely to be buried under the wealth of chill, world and remix styles out there. However, I'd suggest to music lovers of all stripes that this thoughtful, humane, clever, and wide-ranging musical ride around their neighbourhood in NYC is a ride worth taking. There are no pretensions, no tricks, just a clear love of music and people that propels their own and others work. The thirty second sampling will indicate a reasonably wide range of ethnic flavours, but it's the full depth of the music and the intent of the musicians that has won the Turntables on the Hudson series, and this disc in particular, a relatively high rotation in my collection. Nicodemus, Mariano and their collaborators are to be thanked and congratulated.
