All of the solid level design, inspired baddies, and engrossing gameplay elements of the Turok games are here, with new weapons, power-ups, and incredibly smart bots (computer opponents). The only difference is this game is a pure action free-for-all in which good aim and fast feet are the keys to success.

Rage Wars offers a variety of opponent and map options. Play with up to four other humans or a combination of humans and bots on more than 36 maps. Don't worry about identifying the bots as the buggy opponents are running in place in a corner with guns blazing at the floor--the computerized gunners of Rage Wars are perhaps smarter than the flesh- and-bones variety of opponent. The arsenal of weapons range from the familiar to the entirely unique. Turok favorites include the crossbow, mag pistol, flare gun, and scorpion launcher. In addition, a freeze gun chills enemies into blocks of party ice, an inflator gun turns players into waddling weather balloons before popping (remember Dig Dug?), and the Chestburster--well, let's just say that it lives up to its name. --Eric Twelker

Although many places on the net and in magazines have reviewed this title and given it medocre scores, they are missing the point of Rage Wars. They mention that its plot is not that good. Well, the game was not released for plot, it was released to be an awesome multiplayer experience, which it is. There are many modes in this game that will satisfy the novice and veteran players. The single player modes are: 1 player trials, Frag Fest, and Time Trial. They are all based upon a player meeting certain goals in order to advance. These are fun for a long time. For two players, there is the 2 player trials mode. This is much like 1 player, but you and your friend play cooperatively to fight the computer and advance. The one to four player multiplayer mode is where this game excells. It features four modes: Bloodlust, Team Bloodlust, Frag Tag, and Capture the Flag. These in my opinion match the fun of goldeneye. The levels are very good and the fun that comes from this will leave friends playing for hours on end. With the tremendous graphics and Bot AI that can make one player feeling like he is playing quality opponents, this game is definately a keeper. I give it 5 stars for this reason. Acclaim has produced a truly amazing title.

Finally Acclaim admits that there is a problem with Turok Rage Wars! I sent in my defective copy to Acclaim. After a lot of complaining Acclaim admits that there is a problem with the 2-player trial creature tag modes. If you don't mind paying the postage for sending your defective game pak certified mail and waiting for a new copy to be sent to you. (I'm still waiting for mine.) Then go out and buy it. Be prepared to send it back to them though I haven't found a working copy yet. I really enjoyed the game. Especially with friends. I was extremely frustrated by the bugs. Don't they have game testers to look for these kind of bugs? If they did they need to be fired! This bug was incredibly odvious and it was overlooked! Come on Acclaim!

This is a great game if you like to get together with a bunch of friends and just blow eachothers brains out. The weapons are all very cool and clever and the graphics aren't to bad. The levels are pretty cool too! I highly recommend it!
