4.0 out of 5 stars A nice CD, September 6, 2003
This review is from: Turquoise (Audio CD)
The music for this CD is addictive! With Hossam Ramzy, how could it not be? The drum beats are all fun and exciting, and the other instruments just add to the fun! It's hard to keep your hips still just listening to it! A good CD to throw into the CD player and dance around the living room to. It's nice to hear some good middle eastern music that isn't al jeel for once. The CD includes a booklet with both Arabic lyrics and their English translations. Very helpful!

The only things I didn't like about this CD is that the singer's voice feels a bit bland to me. Her voice just doesn't touch me. Also, some of the songs are just the singer pleading for their lover to come back to them. You hear this beautiful song, so you reach for the booklet and find that it's a rather depressing song. Bummer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, October 1, 2003

I heard this at a friend's house and went out and bought it first thing in the morning.

It does have every flavour I crave, Middle Eastern and African fusion at its best. This girl defenitley can sing and moved me completely ;) well there are a few seductively sensual ones in there!

Deliciously soothing and beautiful, I would recommend it

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Talented Singer, May 4, 2005

I hope that we hear more of Dalinda, she has a beautiful voice, even though I wish that her sound would've been a bit more traditional.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing, February 26, 2003

A great addition for any middle east collection. Dalinda has a refreshing beautiful voice that could delight almost any one. "Her music draws on various Bedouin influences from the Libyan, Moroccan and Algerian deserts incorporating some of the grooviest performances by top musicians from Egypt and the Middle East as well as Western recording artists."

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely belly dancing music!, February 25, 2003
This review is from: Turquoise (Audio CD)
Consistently pleasant and engaging, this is a tribal bellydance fan's delight. With Hossam Ramzy at the producer's helm, this disc sports tasteful stylistic modernizations (slight hints of latter-day electronic dance music, etc.) and an admirably eclectic sensibility, drawing on various pan-Saharan Bedouin traditions. The set is mostly upbeat and lively, inviting hips to sway and hands to clap, yet the album closes with a lovely pop tune, "Blue," which has a West African highlife lilt to it, and features her voice at its most delectable. Nice vocals, good music -- what more could you want?
