4.0 out of 5 stars It grows on you... November 1, 2012
By Someone

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I just got this headset today, so everything i am saying is just my first impression. Maybe in the future i will get used to these things. First, the earcups are very hard, and don't go over your ears. I am used to the x12 headset where they go nicely over your ears. Second, the part where you change the game and chat volume is huge! This is also compared to the x12 headset, but the picture on amazon is very deceiving. There isn't much noise cancellation with the headset, but since i'm waiting for Black Ops 2 to come out, i have not yet heard the sound quality on the headset. Now for the cosmetic stuff. The earcups feel very cheap, and they flop around very easily. The wire connecting the two ears is very noticeable and you can see the glue keeping it together. Overall, if your getting this for the cushons or the looks, perhaps this isnt the headset for you. P.S. the cloth wires are badass, so not everything is displeasing....
EDIT... Okay, so its been a day since i wrote this review. I decided to take them out of the box to try the sound and to really feel em on my head. I have to say, the sound quality is much better than the x12s. i own the x12, x11, and z2. And another thing. in the review i said that the cushons didn't fit around my head properly and they were hard to the touch, now, as i write this, i'm wearing the headset and i am noticing that they actually do fit perfectly around my ears. With the x12's, the earcups were really big so there was a lot of room in my ear area, with these, they just fit around my ears and the noise cancellation with music is much better than what i previously stated.

Pros: Ears are surprisingly comfortable after a day of hate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product must buy December 12, 2012
This is the best deal ever especially as far as turtle beach goes get it now while it's on sale that's what got me hooked I'm reading all these reviews and it seems everybody paid full price, it's deffinatly worth it for 55$ but if your using it for your 360 u need to buy a separate audio adapter, name brand ones go for 20 so ur actually paying like 75$ it's still worth it tho, the kilo headset is amazing, it literally feels like u r in the game with this headset, has some cheap-o qualities but again for 55-75$ basically it's a great deal compared to everything else out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Was not expecting much. Boy, was I surprised! April 14, 2014
Edition:Kilo|Verified Purchase
I am always pleased with the performance of any Turtlebeach headset. Although this was much cheaper than many of their well known models, the amount of quality experienced makes it hard to believe that this headset is considered cheap. The audio quality is crisp and clean. Both highs and especially lows are well pronounced.

The mic is insanely clear. I've been receiving compliments on my voice quality from friends and other gamers in just about every game I've played with it. I even use the microphone for Skype conferencing by simply placing it on the desk in front of me. I was shocked to find that I remain audible at up to two feet away from the mic.

At first the ear pieces seemed to be a tad small, but after a full day of gaming, I forgot I was even wearing them. They're lightweight, can be resized and the bridge padding is very soft and in no way bothers the top of your head which are usually issues I have with headsets that will go for 3x the price.

If you're a gamer that demands high quality audio, on a budget and you're not obsessed with throwing your money away for the newest and latest model, then this is the perfect headset for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good headset with a few issues... April 22, 2013
Edition:Kilo|Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Easy to set up, and compatible with consoles and PC/Mac, these are a solid choice for someone that needs that universal capability. Sound quality is fine for gaming (e.g. plenty of bass), but they are not optimal for general music listening. The construction seems rather fragile where the cans meet the headband, only time will tell if they hold up. They are very light, which is a plus, but the vinyl ear surrounds tend to create a little greenhouse effect around your ears which is rather unpleasant after an hour or so. If you catch them on sale for around half-off retail, they are a good value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kilo Headsets with 2+ years of usages December 6, 2014
I purchased this headset about a month after its original release date back in 2012 and honestly it was the best mic I have purchased. I've used other headsets such as the turtle beach px21's, x11's and also triton ax 180's. I decided to purchase them after my ax 180's began braking down and I received a new unit but then I began to hear a sort of Spanish radio that was very faint at first then became pretty overwhelming when trying to play.

The headset is still in semi perfect condition after two years and works just as great as when I got them. The sound quality is amazing for the price and the braided cable has yet to received any tears or open wiring.
The quality of the mic it self is a bit awkward at first as it feels like cheap plastic but after having them so long I know it isn't. So far my only issue was that one earcup broke off the headband but some crazy glue did the trick although it did affect the mobility.
The only con I have is that the braided cable is very thick and while that is not an issue the cables tend to almost curl up on them selves and I have to almost twist the headset in circles so the knots could begin to unravel themselves.

Other than that I would recommend this mic to anyone on any budget but if you do purchase it just make sure the little audio adjustment box doesn't hang loosely make sure you have it clipped on or resting on a surface because that is the main reason why many headsets tend to have faulty audio and such.

2.0 out of 5 stars nice headphones but they didn't hold up long
These worked beautifully, then one of earcups fell off and continues to fall off. The screw that holds them to the headband keeps backing off and falling out.

These were great GD headphones for the price and I loved them. But, ever since I got them I knew that the stiff cord would eventually cause wear on the connection. Read more
