I am partial to black cars, and I have owned many over the years. I currently have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP. I believe there is nothing prettier than a clean and polished black car, but as all you black car ownwers know, getting one to a pristine condition and keeping it there is a challenge. Rock chips, hairline scratches and streaks have been my biggest problems. I am sure I have used every major waxing/polishing product on the market over the years with varying degrees of success, in addition to various paint chip filler systems. I have used products from Zaino, Mothers, Meguiars and many others, all diligently according to instructions, but have never achieved complete satisfaction. I figured I was being too much of a perfectionist -- until I discovered Black Box. I have been absolutely blown away by the results. I clay bar my car frequently, so my clear coat is free of surface contaminants. The deep, wet look, streakless finish of the Black Box products is unbelievable given all my frustrations of the past. I don't see this product trying to dye the clear coat at all, as a previous poster has suggested. After all, this product is just color-induced wax, not paint. There is no way it could dye the clear coat. What I believe Black Box does that other waxes can't is fill those miniscule rock chips and hairline or spider-web scratches with black wax such that they literally disappear. And no more streaks. Pretty amazing. I would certainly recommend that you black car owners give this product a try. It certainly can't hurt, and you might be pleasantly surprised.

As a car wax this stuff is just "OK." For a quick wax, it works but I am somewhat OCD when it comes to detailing my car and I can put a shine on my black car like no other, it's just a more involved involved process using other cleaners/glazers/waxes. Where this TurtleWax Black Box product excels is in those lightly chipped areas (front bumper) or where body panels closely fit together. Here is why: If you wax with a conventional carnuba wax it dries white and you buff it off. The problem is, in these areas the wax settles in those nooks and crannys, dries white, and is extremely difficult or in some cases impossible to remove because it's such a small chip, etc. So you've basically gone over all your small chips with a highlighter. This is where I now use the Black Box wax. This stuff wont fill in the cracks or perform miracles but it does an EXCELLENT job waxing over these problem areas and making those horrible little white chips/specs/dots disappear (keep in mind it onlys masks the problem). My front bumper with all the little white specs would drive me insane after I detailed my car. Not anymore! Thank goodness for this stuff.

I bought this product for my black 2004 Infiniti G35. It does take about 3 hours to apply properly but the results are wonderful. The car looks almost as good as it did when I bought it. It restores your finish. The only down side is I drank too many beers when I was waxing now I have a hangover. HAHA

I own a black 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse, and trust me when I say that it looked grey with no type of shine. You just simply wash your car, find an area with shade, and start following the instructions from the box. It took me 3 microfiber towels and 3 hours to finish, with my arms dead, but the result was unbelievable! It restored the beautiful black shine it once had before. This product, when done correctly, will leave you with such a huge smile in your face that you will see in your very own cars reflection. I still have enough of the product left to apply it again, and when I'm run out, I WILL buy this again. It really does make a huge difference. If you own a black car who's paint was like mine, looking grey, for $20 and about 7$ for towels, this product really does work!

I bought this for use on my black Mercedes after reading the box claims of the deep, rich wax specifically developed for black cars. After about three hours of use, the product does provide a decent shine but one thats no different from Turtle Wax Ice or Meguiars NXT wax, both of I've used for a couple years with great success.

This kit contains a "black" pre cleaner, a "black wax" and a "black spray detailer that is also used to remove the pre-cleaner and for a final wipe after using the 'black' wax. After use it did cover up several minor scratches, just as the Ice and NXT waxes have done. I did some research after I used it and found this:

"Colored waxes are what we call a Gimmick product. 99.9% of all car manufactured today and for the last number of years have a clear coat finish so you're not working on a colored, or pigmented paint to start with. Trying to dye the clear coat a color is not only not going to work, it's a the wrong approach to fixing the problem in the first place.

Most people that fall for the colored wax idea are working on a car who's finish has been neglected, thus the clear coat has become dull and it is difficult for their eyes or anyone's eyes to see the color coat, or the pigmented paint under the clear coat.

Instead of trying to dye the clear paint the color of the base coat, (the color coat below the clear coat), the correct option is to make the clear paint clear again so that your eye can see the color coat under the clear layer of paint."

BLUF, this is a decent product however I'm going to stick with Ice and NXT for an easier, longer lasting shine.
