4.0 out of 5 stars More action, more humor, more pleasure!
My favorite of the Time Warp Trio's adventures so far. This time, the boys end up in the land of King Tut and hieroglyphics. Fear of having their hands chopped off and being mummified are just two of the threats the boys have hanging over their heads when they face the mysteries of ancient Egypt. A wonderful look into customs and beliefs mixed with great humor,...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasant, Forgettable History Micro-Lesson
Candy caramels are made with nutritious ingredients mixed with equal parts sugar. They are tasty, enjoyable, and have virtually no nutritional value. They are very like this pleasantly written, irreverent and forgettable time-travel story, part of a longer series by the same author. In Tut Tut, three friends are accidentally whisked into the time of ancient Egypt by a...

Fear of having their hands chopped off and being mummified are just two of the threats the boys have hanging over their heads when they face the mysteries of ancient Egypt. A wonderful look into customs and beliefs mixed with great humor, terrific storytelling, and non-stop adventure. Another book of the Time Warp Trio series, Jon Scieszka is a master at storytelling. He combines adventure, history, fantasy and humor in a compelling format that even reluctant readers will find hard to put down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy and fun summer reading, July 5, 2001
My son recently wrote the following:

The Time Warp Trio books contain amazing pictures by Lane Smith and humorous stories by Jon Scieszka (of The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales fame). Time Warp Trio books are entertaining and easy to read and were probably written to encourage kids who don't usually read much to read more.

In Tut-Tut, the boys find themselves in the pharaohs' personal treasure room and are discovered by a angry high priest, who turns them in. Once again, The Book disappears, but this time Joe's little sister is also sucked in the warp, so not only do they have to get The Book back, they have to retrieve her, too.

Enjoy this "quick" summer read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Egypt...... in time warp land, January 26, 2006
A Kid's Review
Time-traveling is not as cool as you think. Being mummified, being trapped in a secret room and having your friend almost eaten by a crocodile is not cool. But what is cool is being treated as a royal guest in Thutmose III's palace, sailing in his boat and teaching him basketball. So, if you like things that are cool and not, you should read this hilariously funny book.

My 9 year old son loves this series! He reads them cover to cover as soon as he brings them home, and that is something considering he rarely sits still for anything! This series has really captured his attention, he can't wait to get to the next book!
