I took a chance on this CD (featuring popular and classically derived Italian melodies) based on the captivating cover photo of a Tuscan scene. Well, the music therein is as beautiful as the cover art, and I was delighted. The arrangements are lush and the playing by the Globalis Symphony Orchestra (whoever they are) is first-rate. Sixteen tracks in all, the selections range from opera tunes, such as the lovely "O Mio Babbino Caro" by Puccini to the popular "Con Te Partito" by Sartori (better know as the tear-jerker "Time To Say Goodbye" popularized by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman).

Cuddle up with the one you love, open a bottle of wine, light some candles, and ENJOY!!!!

We took a chance on this cd while in the Smoky Mountains. The best money ever spent. Each time we return to the Smoky's we make sure this cd travels with us. What beautiful music.

A "Romantic" journey, perfect "mood" music...yeah, it had my wife panicing too. We're planning a trip to Tuscany, so I bought this to fill her head with dreams of scenic Italian landscapes. The classics on this CD are some of the most beautiful (and catchy) pieces of music to come from the list of great masters. It has truly set the "mood" for searching airline prices, rental cars and lodging...the tedious part of planning a "Romantic Journey".

I bought this a few years ago when I was searching for the song Nabucco from a Verdi 16 century opera. It has turned out to be one of my top cd's. Music at its best. I am here now ordering a copy for my Pastor for Christmas.

Have heard the songs before , however, this CD presents them in a very beautiful way. Loved it.

For anyone who enjoys classical music, this is a "must-have"! I have listened to the cd every day since it arrived, sometimes several times a day. It is soothing and restful, a lovely calm in the midst of a busy life.

This is a great CD to accompany a fine glass of wine with a meal outdoors, or a long scenic car ride, really anything where relaxation is the goal.

Lovely collection of music! Many pieces I already knew but would not have been able to play them all together; this CD has done that for me. I would have liked even more of the mandolin pieces playing some Italian favorites. This instrument is particularly beautiful (the mandolin) and is so Italian and mediterranean. Lovely vocalists for the arias of some of the nicest operas, too! It was all very beautiful and relaxing to listen to and I felt my self reminiscing the few times I spent in Tuscany and other parts of Italy. Thank you!

In June 2011 I was in a shop that was playing extremely beautiful music. After listening for some time I asked the name of the CD and was told that every time this particular CD was played someone enquired re purchasing a copy and now the owner was taking orders. I ordered 3 copies ($35 each)- a copy for myself and the other 2 for Christmas gifts. In early December, after enquiring on a monthly basis, the shop owner advised me the supplier (in Canada) could no longer supply the CD and she had dozens of disappointed customers. Desperate I went to Amazon and there it was ($12 each). I now have the beautiful orchestral arrangements of my favourite classics playing in the house,the car and on my iPod and I saved $50+(magic). AND when I told the shop owner she thanked me and ordered 50 copies from Amazon.

I bought this CD a few years ago, simply because I LOVE Italian instrumental music ... and because I'd always dreamed of visiting Tuscany. (I also own NAPA VALLEY - A ROMANTIC JOURNEY and loved it)

Over the years, we've planned and postponed our 1st trip to Italy 3 times ... and all along I've been listening to this CD ... dreaming!
FINALLY, we made it there ... we just returned from 9 GLORIOUS days in Tuscany and, THANKFULLY, I was smart enough to take the CD with me!!!

We rented a car (an Alfa Romeo, of course) and drove all over the gorgeous countryside and little hill towns ... breathtaking views!! What made it even more special, was enjoying those views WHILE listening to this amazingly beautiful, romantic music! We didn't have to keep searching for a good radio station (without a bunch of talking) and since it's all instrumental, it was easy to talk to each other while still enjoing the music.

I actually brought a few CD's (all instrumental) so that we didn't have to listen to the same songs over and over, but, this was one of our favorites and we probably spent more time with it than the others.

An added bonus, the calming music helped when we drove some of the scary, narrow and winding mountain roads!! If you're renting a car and will be driving in Italy (or anywhere), don't forget to pack it!
