A car-touring and walking guide to Tuscany. It presents 50 long and short walks and eight car tours, covering the area from the Carrara marble quarries in the northwest down to southern Tuscany, with a particular emphasis on the countryside around Florence and Chianti. There are topographical walking maps and a fold-out touring map, along with many "panels" - illustrated articles about Tuscany's customs and cuisine, flora, fauna and history. Many short walks for motorists are suggested, along with recommendations of areas for picnics.

Great walking guide Tuscany,

My girlfriend and I are Italy enthusiasts and walking fanatics. Italian walking paths are not always well kept, or end unexpected. There are also not many good walking guides for Italy. But this guide is really an exception. The well described tours take you to places were the general tourist of this most visited part of Italy never comes. You will find a wealth of information to prepare your trip well, like good maps, grades and distances of the hikes, availability of local transport and appetizing photos. I would like to recommend this guide to all Tuscany lovers who would like to see more than the Duomo in Florence!

What a great little guide! It really packs a punch in such a small package. If you like touring countryside and picnicking in great settings - this is a perfect travel companion for you. And when you want to stretch your legs it shows you where to park and get close and personal with beautiful Tuscan scenery - the walks are just incredible.
