Book Description

July 1998
This tutorial is the ideal tool for beginners getting started with powerful design and production tools from Parametric Technology Corporation. This book provides an overview of basic PT/Modeler commands. Because PT/Modeler is a derivative of the Pro/ENGINEER package and the interfaces are virtually identical, this text can also be used to learn the basics of Pro/ENGINEER. This manual presents basic concepts in an efficient, accessible way, allowing the user to get up and running quickly. Topics from getting-started basics to advanced assemblies are covered in 62 short, easy-to-use tutorials--all accompanied by detailed supporting text. The book is organized so that is it useful during the tutorial phase, during review, and later as a reference. Also presented in this text is important background information on such topics as parametric design, 3D solid modeling, hierarchical design and creating engineering drawings. Overview material on PT/Render and PT/Library is also included.

3.0 out of 5 stars Many errors need to be corrected., March 31, 1999
This review is from: A Tutorial Guide to PT/Modeler 2.0 & Pro/Engineer (Paperback)
Mr. Ferraro is obviously a person who understands ProE extremely well and has a book that is very well outlined to teach the beginner. However, the publisher should have gone to the expense of hiring a proof reader. The text is filled with errors in the the text when it refers to tables and figures and some of the lessons are in error, which makes it very difficult for the student to guess what it is he is suppose to do in some instances. The book (and CD in a few cases) both are in bad need of an updated version to eleminate errors.
