5.0 out of 5 stars It's a great toy for this price!
Before I ordered this toy, I checked with reviews on amazon.com. I decided to try it because it's really cheap (<$7 including shipping). After I tested the toy, I'd say it's pretty accurate. occasionally it makes mistake but it's not big problem (you won't use it to count $100 bill, right? ). I'll order one more.
Overall, both my kids and me like it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't distinguish pennies from dimes.
I got this as a gift. It seemed like a convenient way to store loose change however the machine doesn't seem to distinguish between pennies and dimes well leading to very inaccurate totals. Because of this I had to reset it and restart counting numerous times til I finally gave up and just put the coins in the plastic jar without the counter.

i bought four of the coin counters (1 for each coin; pennies dimes nickles and quarters) and out of the four counters only 1 was good. the other 3 broke almost immediately. one has a display problem after .25 cents you cant read what it says. another doesnt recognize the coin i am entering, i put in a dime it reads a penny, i put in a quarter it reads a nickle, i put in a nickle it reads a dime. and the other doesnt read anything at all. i would have to say i am very dissatisfied with this product and would not buy another one.

1.0 out of 5 stars WORTHLESS!, July 15, 2010

Even as I sit here, I'm putting money into this bank. This is the third time in a row it has read a quarter as a nickel. It reads my pennies as nickels at times, too. In fact, right now I'm just plain exasperated and am going to put my change somewhere else, and most likely I'm going to throw the whole unit away. I was dumb enough to buy two of these and am getting the same stellar performance (ha, ha) out of the other one as well.

I'm thinking of another strategy -- a good, solid tin can. If you're in an artistic mood, you can put some contact paper around it. Then when the pocket change reaches a certain height, you can get some coin wrappers, bundle the money up, take it to the bank and you'll be set.

The idea is good -- a bank that counts coins -- but get one that actually works!

This toy is annoying because it is very sensitive. But it does no which coins are which and i like that. It is a cool toy though. I would suggest it because it counts money correctly and knows the difference between a quarter and a dime. It is an OK toy so i rate it 4 stars

I bought this as a Christmas present last year for my younger sister so she could start saving up for her dream trip to France. I opened the package to put in the batteries so that it would be ready when she got it. The darn thing doesn't do anything! It does not take any of the change I tried to put in it. The money will not fit in the slot. This is a piece of junk.

I did not even get a chance to return it because it was the holiday season and I was a busy busy bee travelling and working and shop shop shopping! My boyfriend now uses it to hold random things upon his desk and it is hideous to look at! Some day I will throw it out when he's not looking!

This bank smaller than I thought, and it looks cheap. I bought it as a gift for my son. His older brother has a similar bank, but it is larger and does not look as cheap. The bank is a bit inaccurate because it counts $1 coins as quarters. Although I will not be returning it, I would not purchase it again; nor would I recommend it.

I was so excited to get this Electronic change counter. It was a big surprised to find it was so small. It is only about 6 or 7" tall, very cheap looking. Most of all, it didn't count the coins. I returned it.

Money counter looked as shown in the picture however when I started to put money in it, the counter was in-accurate. The machine couldn't count U.S $1 coin accurately, it counted it as .$25c.
