5.0 out of 5 stars You don't have to be a country fan, July 17, 2001
By

No, you don't. After his Jamie period, Duane joined RCA and it resulted in a bunch of superb albums. These two belong definitively to this category. I love them both, but my absolute favorite is the early 60-ties Nashville sound of "Twangin'Country Song". All my favourite Nashville musicians are there to help Duane to make this album a gem. And they succeed, no question about that. All the tunes are great but some are played so beautifully they seem out of this world. No need to say more - you like Duane Eddy, you'll love this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Guitar, August 23, 2000

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Twangin' The Golden Hits/Twang A Country Song (Audio CD)
I use to listen to Twangin, the golden hits a lot growing up. This CD is a combination of two CDs; Twangin' the Golden Hits and Twang A Country Song. The first album is clearly in the rock an roll style. Many of the tracks have piano and sax back-up. Duane Eddy does a spirited rendition of "Rebel Rouser" as well as other classics such as "Tequilla" and "More". He also does beautiful rendition of "A Summer Place" and "Stranger on the Shore (which is probably the prettiest track on the Album. Twang a country song is distinctly country in style with the use of fiddles, steel guitar and background vocals. This album contains a wide variety of classics from "wildwood flower" to "Have you ever been lonely" to "crazy Arms". I have listened to this CD several times its a real classic. This is definitely one of my favorite CDs.
