What else could you wish for? If you dislike Christmas music in general and you like New Orleans rythm and blues and rock and roll. This is it. It's crazy, It's happy, It's danceable, It's funky. It was released for the first time in 1962. The up-tempo version of Silent Night caused a lot of bad reviews back then. The karaoke versions are the original backing tracks without the vocals. So if you think you can do a better job on it: Go ahead. If you're not Little Richard, I doubt you'll succeed in improving this one. This is the album that started me collecting rock 'n'roll Christmas music. All my Christmasses have been bright since then.
Happy holidays. Willem.

4.0 out of 5 stars great stuff!!, December 21, 2003

a fine cd of jumping xmas tunes. The upproar that caused them to pull the version of "silent night" was concern about that verse " round young virgins, motherless child". Oh well, sounds good to me!

The music on this album is just as good as Chuck Berry's "Run Rudolph Run", Elvis Presley's "Santa Claus is back in town" or The Drifters'"White Christmas". The Album was released for the first time in 1962. At that time some people found the up-tempo version of "silent Night" offensive. Overall it's a very happy sounding swinging Christmas album,in a style that successfully finds the middle ground between Fats Domino, Larry Williams, early James Brown and Dr. John. If you like fifties style rock'n'roll this will make all your Christmasses bright.
