5.0 out of 5 stars Start Feeling Again
Words can't really describe what Enuff Znuff's music has done and continues to do for me since their debut album back in 1989. On Tweaked, EZN continues to showcase Chip and Donnie's abilities to put provocative and relatable lyrics to beautiful melodies with a strong backbeat. Put this CD on and just sit and listen to tracks like "Stoned," "My Dear...

"Strength" and "Animals with Human Intelligence" are two of the greatest rock/pop albums of all time. Words can't really describe what Enuff Znuff's music has done and continues to do for me since their debut album back in 1989. On Tweaked, EZN continues to showcase Chip and Donnie's abilities to put provocative and relatable lyrics to beautiful melodies with a strong backbeat. Put this CD on and just sit and listen to tracks like "Stoned," "My Dear Dream," and "It's too Late," and you will see that these guys are not only letting us into their emotional catharsis, but truly crafting quality songs. Some of the tracks on this album are left over b-sides from their earlier days, they do not, however, take anything away from the album as a whole. For instance, "Has Jesus Closed His Eyes?" features their original guitarist Derek Frigo. This track is a good sample of something you might find one their second album "Strength" or even their third album "Animals..." Whatever you do, don't let the misclassification of these guys as 80's metal allow you to overlook their talent as great songwriters. If you are a fan of great pop music, I guarantee you will enjoy Enuff Znuff. Though I believe this album is a turning point for the band it is, perhaps, them at their most genuine. Don't pass this one up.

4.0 out of 5 stars I don't get some of these other reviews, October 16, 2005
This review is from: Tweaked (Audio CD)
Reading some of these other reviews on this album is tragic. I don't know what tweaked them (sorry, couldn't resist), but I guess it just goes to show different tastes... I found this album to be their best to date. And they would continue to get better after this. Some really great songs on here: STONED, MR. JONES, MY DEAR DREAM, HAS JESUS CLOSED HIS EYES. Additionally, IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU & MY HEROIN are solid. This album is just a continuation of the maturing process. Like a fine wine, Enuff Z'nuff was still getting better at this point.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark and Genius, June 30, 2005
This review is from: Tweaked (Audio CD)
Enuff Z'nuff shed the gloss and really get down to business with this dark and somber album. The dark temperament is felt not only in the music but the subject matter, drug addiction. It's a brilliant concept album where Donnie Vie really let's it all out. Some of the band's best songs can be found on this album. If your tastes are more toward insipid pop, then by all means skip this one and buy a Warrant CD but if you want a brutally honest album with some excellent songwriting and musicianship Tweaked is not to be missed.

3.0 out of 5 stars ENZ lose it!, October 6, 1999

"Strength" and "Animals with Human Intelligence" are two of the greatest rock/pop albums of all time. The reasons for this are firstly that with Vikki Fox and Derek Frigo in the band EZN really rocked(listen to the recent "EZN Live" for further evidence), secondly that the sound/production had that edge that always brings the best out of great tunes and thirdly that Chip and Donnie wrote some absolutely wonderful songs that even their obsessive heroes, Lennon and McCartney, would have been proud of. On the follow up album, "Tweaked", only on "We're All Alright" and "Has Jesus Closed His Eyes" do they get close to former glories. This was the second most disappointing CD I ever bought, the most disappointing being the subsequent "Seven" which is so bad it makes "Tweaked" sound good! At least with the recent "Paraphenalia" EZN have started a return the heights they once inhabited. A bit of kiss and make up with Vikki and Derek would surely finish the job and remind us of what we have all been missing. This CD is one to miss.

1.0 out of 5 stars If You Like EZN, Then Skip This Dog!!!..., September 12, 2002

... I own all of their cd's and have had the pleasure of meeting them and hanging out with them for several hours. Now that we know where I stand on Enuff Z'Nuff, I have to be honest and say that this album is their worst, in fact it would be bad if anyone recorded it. The songs are weak and the instrumental arrangements are boring and difficult to listen to, in fact there is not one track here that stands out. Just an atrocity from this band who usually puts out great stuff. ...
