Sweet and pretty version of the traditional song,

I teach young children and I like to find stories that can be sung or chanted. Children love to sing along with this book, a version of "The Green Grass Grows All Around." It's a very nice story to read at the beginning of Spring. I happen to have a puppet of three little birds in a nest Baby Birds in Nest which I use after this story - I have the children give the little birds pretend worms to eat. It's a fun activity that helps them remember the story.

this is a delightful book! a marvelous read-aloud to preschoolers. altogether, a joyful experience. based on the song "the green leaves grew all around, all around, the green leaves grew all around".
