5.0 out of 5 stars I Tawt I Taw an excellent cartoon collection!, February 2, 2001
By
This review is from: Tweety - Tweet & Lovely [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This tapeContains several Sylvester and Tweety cartoons that aredifficult to see anywhere else, at least at such high quality. This is the best way to see the best of the Sylvester and Tweety classics. It includes these cartoons:"Birds Anonymous", "Fowl Weather", "Greedy For Tweety", "Catty Cornered", "A Pizza Tweety Pie", "Tugboat Granny", "Tweety's Circus", "Tweet and Lovely", "Rebel Without Claws", and "Hawaiian Aye Aye", (which was the last Tweety short ever made.) Many are available for the first time with full titles and credits, and all are uncut. If you like Sylvester and Tweety cartoons, your family does, or you are a collector of Looney Tunes, this is the best of Tweety and Sylvester you can find anywhere!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Collection of Tweety Bird Shorts, August 31, 2008

This review is from: Tweety - Tweet & Lovely [VHS] (VHS Tape)
With the rise of the DVD, VHS tapes are now being forced into extinction. It's a bit of a shame because there are a lot of excellent collections of both short and animated films that will no longer be available to consumers, except if a person purchases a complete set of something. TWEET AND LOVELY is an example. This VHS includes ten Tweety Bird shorts including the last Tweety short made that was shown in theaters, "Hawaiian Aye Aye". A few of these shorts are available on the Looney Golden Collections DVD sets, e.g. "Birds Anonymous" appears on Volume 3 of the set. However, most of these short are yet unavailable on DVD and for fans of Tweety Bird, that's a downer. The shorts included on the tape are as follows.

"Birds Anonymous"--Sylvester joins a 12-step program in an attempt to break his habit of eating birds so that he can be friends with Tweety.

"Fowl Weather"--This short takes place on a farm. Granny leaves for the day and Sylvester attempts to eat Tweety while she is gone. Hector is the dog who tries to watch over Tweety. Meanwhile, Tweety hides out with the chickens to keep away from that mean ole' putty cat.

"Greedy for Tweety"-- This short takes place in a city. Sylvester chases Tweety and Spike the Dog chases Sylvester. The chase ends up in a car accident that brings the three critters to an animal hospital where the mischief continues.

"Catty Cornered"--Tweety is a valuable bird worth a million dollars and is stolen by a bunch of gangsters. Sylvester wants to eat Tweety, but ends up rescuing him and becomes a hero instead.

"A Pizza Tweety-Pie" - Granny and Tweety are on vacation in Venice, Italy. Sylvester attempts to conquer the canals to get the bird.

"Tugboat Granny"-- Granny operates a tugboat with Tweety aboard. Sylvester attempts to maneuver through the water to swipe the bird.

"Tweety's Circus"-- Sylvester finds himself dealing with lions after trying to eat Tweety at the circus.

"Tweet and Lovely"-- Tweety lives in a high rise birdhouse and is protected by Spike the Dog. Sylvester tries his usual tricks to get the bird.

"Rebel Without Claws"-- Tweety is a Confederate messenger bird sent across enemy lines during the Civil War. Sylvester is the Union's "Secret Messenger Destroyer" and is sent to capture Tweety. He is actually successful, but there's a surprise ending.

"Hawaiian Aye Aye"-- Granny takes Tweety on a vacation to Hawaii. Sylvester is a starving cat on a small island who sees Tweety and attempts to steal him and eat him. The only problem is that Tweety is protected by Granny's pet shark, Sharky.

For fans of Tweety Bird, this is a must-have collection. I normally don't recommend VHS tapes anymore, but as of September 2008, TWEET AND LOVELY is the only way a person can see some of these great Tweety Bird shorts. Highly recommended for fans of Tweety as well as anyone who just enjoys classic Warner Brother cartoons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tweety Tweet Lovely, August 18, 2008
This review is from: Tweety - Tweet & Lovely [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Yes I'm a huge Looney Tunes fan! I love Sylvester and Bugs, Daffy,Porky and Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Marvin The Martian, TAZ, and Wile E.Coyore and that vulture Beaky Buzzard, and Foghorn Leghorn, and the frog Michigan J.Frog,Speedy Gonzales,Tweety Bird, Road Runner, Granny! They're very funny charactrs! The music they put on for Looney Tunes was superb!
This video is a great teamup of Sylvester, and Tweety! I like all the epsoides! I just wish that Tweety Bird would lose for once just so Sylvester The Cat could win just for once! My favorite epsoides are all of them! I love the Looney Tunes characters! They're just something you don't see day after day! They're is an eception to that and that is Spongebob Squarepants and Mario! But other than that you just don't see it! You know the only thing I watch besides the great Looney Tunes characters is Spongebob, Tom and Jerry, and Disney other than that I'm usually just watching the great and wonderful Looney Tunes! Thanks Mel Blanc, Thanks Chuck Jones, and Thanks to Carl Stalling for the excellent jazz for Looney Tunes, and thank you Friz Freleng for making Sylvester and Tweety come to life! These are the best cartoon besides Spongebob around to this day! From Carl Eric Jensen
