More About the Author

Kelly McClymer fell in love with Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White as a child. Her most prized possession is her copy of The Complete Tales of the Brothers Grimm. These are the stories which gripped our ancestors as they huddled around the fire at night, which taught countless children to persevere through hardship and succeed against the odds. Her favorite fairytale remains "The Six Swans" -- where a young sister must not speak a word for six years in order to save her brothers from their stepmother's evil spell.

3.0 out of 5 stars On the First Day of Christmas...., November 11, 2008
This review is from: The Twelfth Night Bride (Zebra Historical Romance) (Paperback)
At the close of the celebration of Christmas comes Twelfth Night - an evening of ischief and merriment. And it will be Kate Fenster's wedding night...for the duke's youngest daughter must marry the handsome Irishman who climbed into her bed on Christmas Eve...

Kate Fenster thought nothing of her blithe vow to marry charming Sean McCarthy so long ago - it was made in just, after all. But now that her "intended" has returned, promising to sweep her off her feet, Kate is suddenly unsure if the new, and nearly penniless, Earl of Blarney wants her love - or her dowry.

Sean is undaunted by the impossible tasks the lovely Kate sets him to prove his affection. He loves her beyond reason, but he is nobody's fool. His stealthy visit to her bedchamber on Christmas Eve means that she must give him her hand in marriage, though all he can give her is himself - and more joy than her heart can ever hold...

3.0 out of 5 stars yes cover is VERY misleading, October 10, 2006

This review is from: The Twelfth Night Bride (Zebra Historical Romance) (Paperback)
Depressing book, though it kind of kept me interested. Fortune hunter Irish guy Sean marries English heiress Kate with the idea of settling in London and trying to politically help his country but circumstances happen and he decides that won't do so leaves Kate on their wedding night and writes excuse letters to put off seeing her again...for FIVE YEARS. Kate isn't totally blameless in that she really should have gone to his place in Ireland long before the five years were up but didn't go face him until he demanded a divorce. Mostly hated Sean because he considered his wife's property his and didn't seem to care that he hurt her. Though in the end he wanted her and she him...he never apologized nearly enough or acted nearly in love enough...till the "one year later" two pages where Sean seems to show some love for his wife but still manages a remark about whatever she has is his...annoying...

Three stars because it did keep me reading and was sort of interesting in a disgusting and sad way. The cover seemed to see Sean as this really loving guy...so the book truly disappointed me.
