Book Description

Unity Classic Library May 1999
The newest book in the Unity Classic Library series encompasses two Unity favorites in one volume. Charles Fillmore's The Twelve Powers of Man is a metaphysical look at twelve expressions of the divine power inherent in each of us. Expressions such as love, faith, strength, zeal, and imagination are discussed.

Cora Fillmore provides a companion piece to Charles' book with Christ Enthroned in Man. In it, Mrs. Fillmore helps the reader to put the twelve powers to practical use by outlining exercises to develop faith and willpower, recognize and use intuition, and let go of unwanted conditions in the body and in life situations.

About the Author

Charles Fillmore was an innovative thinker, a pioneer in metaphysical thought at a time when most religious thought in America was entirely orthodox. He was a lifelong advocate of the open, inquiring mind, and he took pride in keeping abreast of the latest scientific and educational discoveries and theories.

Cora Dedrick Fillmore, an ordained Unity minister, married Charles in 1933. In addition to Christ Enthroned in Man, she also compiled two books from the writings of Charles Fllmore, Keep a True Lent and Atom-Smashing Power of Mind. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars 12 Powers, March 2, 2000

This review is from: The Twelve Powers (Hardcover)
After reading the 12 powers, I created my own affirmations to support my daily prayers to strengthen these powers. This book is thought provoking, when reading Charles' section, and can be put to practical use via meditation, when reading Cora's section. Since there are two books in one, this is a real bargain. If you can't read the whole book, make sure you read the last chapter when all the powers are placed in a single excercise. You will appreciate the knowledge gained from "faith and understanding.." to "..wisdom and renuciation". Learn how to manage and express the 12 powers and bring them into spiritual reality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended for the more advanced metaphysical seeker, October 17, 2001

This review is from: The Twelve Powers (Hardcover)
I do have to give this book five stars because of it's powerful teachings of basic metaphysical principles. I do, though, highly recommend reading the two books concurrently. As much as I admire Charles Fillmore, his book isn't the easiest reading for one new to metaphysics. Also, one probably won't agree with all his teachings. He had beliefs in immortality in the body, in regeneration, and concerning sexuality which many will disagree with, which is all right. This material must be read with an open mind, and with a discerning mind which can discard that which one has difficulty with while retaining that which is relevant.

I have been a heathen, Did not study the bible as I should. Went to Catholic school but have never read such a powerful, easy to understand book in all of my short life. Truly inspiring. I will read I over and over again.
