Book Description

June 21, 2009
"Taking in a sweeping introspection, from the abusive beginnings of my childhood to my military deployment into Vietnam, to my incredible sojourn in the Far East I fully realized that my journey was set in motion at the very moment of my birth. This is absolutely remarkable! Who would have figured out that, from my early experiences with my father, I would come to honor and thank him for all what he had given me? Who would have known that I would meet my first teacher, a Zen Master living close to a war-torn village who would guide me to follow my intuitive senses? Who had pre-planned and planted the urge for me to fly to India of all places, so I could meet my Master Teachers and walk the path of the Master Christ, all the while teaching me to interact with consciousness, to utilize meditation, and to fully understand Karma? Admit it now, if not Karma, did you plan all this for me? Individual life is such a truly wondrous gift, such a perfect tool to use as our body of perfection moves forward and evolves throughout its journey!" I have had the opportunity to study with the most magnificent people ever placed in this world - Tibetan Monks. My life began from very difficult beginnings which ultimately led me to the halls of monasteries in the Far East to learn the truths of life. These truths are now being shared with you in the pages of this book. They contain not only the information on Karma but also to the way they are taught. Some of these stories are very humorous in the techniques which were used by my teachers. The words contained within the pages are to enlighten and to empower you in all that you do. I had the wonderful opportunity to study the Tibetan Buddhist path to full consciousness in this life and it is my humble desire to share that knowledge with you. Many years have passed since my sojourn in the Far East but the knowledge is more ingrained in me today than when originally taught. I have since traveled the halls of academia until achieving my Ph.D. and know that academia is not able to teach a person who they truly are along with the magnificence of being human. It is my desire today through writing, seminars and interacting with people to get them to reach for their own divine nature. Read more at: www.innercirclepublishing.com or www.hairfield.com

5.0 out of 5 stars A "rewarding" read for lifes journey., September 27, 2009

This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
Since my early teen years until the present (I'm nearing 59 now) I have spent a great deal of time studying books on eastern thought, sometimes spending over a year on a singlebook to try to comprehend and learn of the spiritual disciplines of the far east. After most previously tackling Dr. Hairfields "A Metaphysical Interpretation of the Bible" (a most enlightening read, although quite the lengthy book, which I recommend to anyone) I found myself anxiously awaiting the release of his latest work "The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma". Now I have read it and am currently re-reading it.
This was an easy read and I felt Dr. Hairfied conveyed the far eastern approach to life in such a clear way that a person drawn to this could most definitely feel nourished in their spiritual journey. A wealth of knowledge awaits the sincere reader of this book. I found it held my attention with the way the subject matter was presented. I am very anxious to see these principles in action in my life as I try to incorporate them into my behavior in both thought and deed.
The teachings as he adequately conveys are the foundations of the eastern wisdom past down for countless eons. I for one think that in this USA that it's great to have something that is changeless and provides a tried and proven way of working with the natural laws of the universe. And shows how they (the natural laws) are here to give life it's substance, of which so many of us take for granted.
To sum it up I'd say that anyone who finds themselves reading this book is in for a wealth of information that could certainly be life altering and help with making the flow of the issues of life much less trying. And hopefully help generate new beginnings for people and get them unstuck from the repeating patterns of Karma's grip.

5.0 out of 5 stars Redeemed..., January 23, 2010
This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
As I sow, so shall I reap... indeed my every thought, word and action are my seeds sown... Karma insures my harvest. Simplified: when I sow fear, I reap fear; when I sow love, I reap love. Dr. Hairfield's explanation of Karma and its workings is well detailed in this book of twelve principles... and more importantly, he details how to tap into its workings for my ultimate benefit; how to consciously work with Karma so that ultimately every negative return of every negative seed sown may be removed from my life. That kind of sounds like redemption... and if not, it's at least really good psychotherapy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating, March 25, 2010

This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
The principles here are just what I was hoping to find, but man this book needs some serious editing. The sentences are so poorly structured that in places even reading several times I still could not understand what Hairfield is trying to say. There is no need of this. Steven Hairfield, for goodness sake either learn to write or find a good editor. Your book could have been a masterpiece.
