A "rewarding" read for lifes journey.,

This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
Since my early teen years until the present (I'm nearing 59 now) I have spent a great deal of time studying books on eastern thought, sometimes spending over a year on a singlebook to try to comprehend and learn of the spiritual disciplines of the far east. After most previously tackling Dr. Hairfields "A Metaphysical Interpretation of the Bible" (a most enlightening read, although quite the lengthy book, which I recommend to anyone) I found myself anxiously awaiting the release of his latest work "The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma". Now I have read it and am currently re-reading it.
This was an easy read and I felt Dr. Hairfied conveyed the far eastern approach to life in such a clear way that a person drawn to this could most definitely feel nourished in their spiritual journey. A wealth of knowledge awaits the sincere reader of this book. I found it held my attention with the way the subject matter was presented. I am very anxious to see these principles in action in my life as I try to incorporate them into my behavior in both thought and deed. The teachings as he adequately conveys are the foundations of the eastern wisdom past down for countless eons. I for one think that in this USA that it's great to have something that is changeless and provides a tried and proven way of working with the natural laws of the universe. And shows how they (the natural laws) are here to give life it's substance, of which so many of us take for granted. To sum it up I'd say that anyone who finds themselves reading this book is in for a wealth of information that could certainly be life altering and help with making the flow of the issues of life much less trying. And hopefully help generate new beginnings for people and get them unstuck from the repeating patterns of Karma's grip.

Redeemed...,
By
This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
As I sow, so shall I reap... indeed my every thought, word and action are my seeds sown... Karma insures my harvest. Simplified: when I sow fear, I reap fear; when I sow love, I reap love. Dr. Hairfield's explanation of Karma and its workings is well detailed in this book of twelve principles... and more importantly, he details how to tap into its workings for my ultimate benefit; how to consciously work with Karma so that ultimately every negative return of every negative seed sown may be removed from my life. That kind of sounds like redemption... and if not, it's at least really good psychotherapy.

The principles here are just what I was hoping to find, but man this book needs some serious editing. The sentences are so poorly structured that in places even reading several times I still could not understand what Hairfield is trying to say. There is no need of this. Steven Hairfield, for goodness sake either learn to write or find a good editor. Your book could have been a masterpiece.

The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
As a young child I remember looking up at the sky and saying all I want is the truth. Well it took a while and I found a lot of truth, especially since I decided to turn the volume up on my meditation practice...At this point I must have attracted this book to me. I would say that it is a standard opinion in this country that Karma means, what goes around comes around. And that is about as much thought as the average person spends at looking and learning what their emotions and thoughts are all about, short definitions. Our minds are like a ping pong game we hit the ball and wherever it goes and whatever it bounces off of and then goes to bounce again is what we call our life. Then we wonder why we have no harmony or peace and are subject to it rather than life being subject to our harmonious output. How about the truth on how each and every thought and emotion carves the vessel of which you travel down the river of life. With either voluptuous panoramic views or enemies shooting arrows at you from hidden caves and behind trees you can't even see. This book is it, the whole truth and nothing but. I plan on integrating it as a way of life. As the author states, "Real truth is only truth if it applies to every one without exception". If someone was real smart they would make a workbook out of this and teach it as a course, on how to live in harmony with the universe and have what you need placed at your feet.

I always knew there was something else...,

I heard an interview with the author in December 2010 after listening to the interview several times something clicked. I woke up at 2:00 am and ordered the book.
Since receiving the book I have read through it twice, and contemplate it everyday. I start each morning with the thought of how I'm going to approach my day. Amazing as it may seem at 53 I had no clue about how life worked, today I open my eyes in wonderment at the order of it all. I'm not suggesting that in this short period of time I have figured out the meaning of life, just that I now have started to pay attention to the world around me and it's really cool! This book is a guide and anyone who reads it will find it impossible to argue. Thank you Doctor Hairfield, I hope someday to meet you if not in this one maybe the next.

Very helpful instruction on Karma for the Western Mind,
By WhatIWant (Reno, Nevada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
Dr. Hairfield provides an excellent resource for the teaching of Karmic principles for our western civilization. All too often, we of the west have replaced the angry god we have come to know from religious teachings, with the angry machine of Karma. In each case we lack true understanding of the principles of God and Karma. This book outlines the principles of Karma, as well as guides the reader to an understanding of the responsibility of self in the matter that we call life. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in understanding Karma, and in fact God as well.

I am an avid reader and must say this is the best book I have ever read.I have just finished reading it and now plan on spending a month on each principle. If everybody implemented the principles in this book we would have heaven on earth. A best seller and timeless book. If you buy one book make it this one. It is a shame as it needs some editing. But the principles are just to good to not be shared by all. Just buy it, read it, use it. and it will change your world. Mental knowledge is useless when its not shared.

As I read this book, it was as if I were right there with the very Masters: Lobsang and Kiela. In this treatise Steven takes us on a journey into his daily lessons on Karma. He speaks with experiential wisdom on the topic; something that is lacking in most text today on the topic. Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma elucidates perfectly on a concept that so easily eludes us. This time around, I'm sure you'll get the concept. This book is a must read, especially for people who want to know how the law of attraction truly works. Shanti.

A Handbook for Living,
By
This review is from: The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma (Hardcover)
If you have ever wished that you had an instruction manual that could guide you through your life's journey, then this is the book for you. As Dr. Hairfield offers the idea of each principle of Karma, he shares his experiences with his teachers from the far east and how each principle was taught to him. It is an easy read and the stories shared are helpful in grasping each lesson offered. I had many "Aha" moments while reading this book which have given me perspective on many of my past experiences and some of those that I have still been struggling with. By reading The Twelve Sacred Principles of Karma you can learn to create the life you have always desired to live as you are guided from one principle to the next.
