Book Description

July 1, 1992
This workbook charts a clear course for your faculty. New teachers learn how to build their careers on a solid foundation, while experienced faculty members renew the excitement and commitment that led them to teaching in the first place. The book is written in a step-by-step, hands-on workbook format from a teacher-oriented perspective. It proposes a self-evaluation approach directed by (not at) the teacher. The ultimate goal is focused, effective teachers who understand how they can best help their students succeed, and who can "keep their edge" year after year.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

This book resulted from the Research for School Management International Model Schools Project, which featured a 42-school descriptive pilot study followed by a nine school longitudinal study. The charge of this research was to investigate relationships between student performance and approaches to school management and teaching.

From the Author

The RSM study clearly indicated that enhancement in student performance is associated with higher levels of student satisfaction and, as well, with higher levels of teacher satisfaction. Based on the RSM study, the 20 principles in this book have been developed to spotlight the teaching approaches associated with high performance/moderate stress in students (and secondarily, with high levels of student and teacher satisfaction).
