This review is from: Twenty Silver Ghosts Rolls-Royce: The incomparable pre-World War I motorcar, 1907-1914 (Paperback)
This is not a reference book on Rolls-Royce, this is a artistic celebration of the cars. Each two page spread contains beautiful art or lithographs of a select Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost in period correct backgrounds, with a delightful telling of the story of each car, and the provenance of said car.

This review is from: Twenty Silver Ghosts Rolls-Royce: The incomparable pre-World War I motorcar, 1907-1914 (Paperback)
I think anyone who appreciates the meticulous sturdiness of the Ghost chassis and loves the variety of body designs and coachbuilders who worked their magic on these Rolls Royce automobiles will like this book. All the illustrations of the twenty vehicles selected are from paintings made by the artist Melbourne Brindle. All are displayed in settings appropriate to the specific automobile. Brief biographies of C.S. Rolls and Henry Royce and the introductions to and descriptions of each car are very well done. I removed the dust cover of the book, framed it and have it on display in my den.
I personnally liked this book very much. |
