I've read entirely too many coming-of-age novels lately because I went into this one interested, but feeling like I'd read it all... yeah, not so much. This is more than a teenage girl finding herself, more than a the average 18-year-old finding himself. It's about a group of up-and-coming 20-somethings who help each other find themselves through love, laughter and fun.

The start of the book is a little rough. It takes a while to get used to the "episodes" and it felt a little disjointed at first. I started out thinking it really could have used an overhaul to truly be successful as a novel. It also felt too short in places, but I usually feel that way about airy reads such as this.

Having said that, this was a breath of fresh air. It was an easy read, the characters were all strongly written and the plot was well thought-out. I found myself alternatively loving and hating the characters, but always coming back to how real they felt. I didn't always agree with all of their decisions and directions, but it always made me smile.

I recommend this chicklit book for those who want an easy read and a few smiles.

While this book is rather short, I'd love to see it expanded! The characters are engaging and the issues they deal with (life in general) are something we can all relate to. I read this and thought, this is the perfect beach read. It just feels like a summer book! My niece is going to read it next, she is 17 and I think that Twenty-Somewhere would be perfect for her with all the changes she has coming. It also inspired me to look at my own life a bit and think it could use some focus.

This book may appeal to young people with very short attention spans! It flits around between the three characters, sometimes so quickly that it's annoying. Very trite story lines and simple dialogue. But I think young (as in high school maybe) readers may enjoy it. I read the whole book in under four hours while on the beach. So while I was enjoying my time, the book wasn't all that great!

I am a 21 yr old college senior and I loved the story! I definitely wish that this story was longer. Not only could I barely put it down even with my very busy schedule, but it was so interesting! I really wished I could have seen more of the characters' lives, but it did a great job covering a wide time frame so wonderfully. I did not feel like I was missing anything in the story, it was just so great I wanted to read more. I did get a little confused about who was talking sometimes in the beginning, but once you got to know the characters, they each had a very unique voice. I loved it and would definitely recommend this to my friends!

Kristan Hoffman describes her book by saying "Think Sex and the City meets Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." I really love this description because it makes it clear that the book is about a group of close-knit friends. The thing I loved about `Twenty-Somewhere' is that it's set right after the girls (Sophie, Claudia and MJ) graduate from college. I haven't read that many books that take place during this time, so that made it interesting for me. Hoffman did a good job describing the girls' feelings as they deal with new homes, new jobs, new loves, and just a whole lot of new situations.

While I really loved the concept (and even the plot) of the book, I had a hard time with the style of writing. For some reason the present tense really threw me off, and I had a hard time differentiating between characters at first. I never really felt like I got to know the characters all that well, perhaps because of the third person narration, but also because of the abundance of dialogue. The lack of lengthy descriptions and the short section breaks make `Twenty-Somewhere' easy to read and kept me turning the pages, but it also kept me from feeling totally involved with the characters.

As this book won the St. Martin's Press "New Adult" contest it's clear that it has a lot of potential. If you're looking for something quick and easy to read that also contains humour and heartache, then `Twenty-Somewhere' might be for you. This book covers a topic which could be pretty heavy, but Kristan makes it light and funny, having her characters find strength in their new situations.

I was fortunate to pick up a copy of this book when it was free for the Kindle and I am really glad I did. Following the story of three best-friends after they graduate college, Kristan Hoffman has managed to do what many young adult and even adult authors have failed to do - reach that beloved post college but still pre-adult audience. Much like the title, Twenty-Somewhere is for twenty-something readers who have gone through the agonizing doubt, confusion and relentless yearning and hope that accompanies one's years directly after college.

The characters were written so well that I truthfully felt as if they were real people, friends in my own life. I personally identified a little more with Sophie than the other two, but that doesn't mean they were any less enjoyable.

I really liked the "episodic" way it was written, and felt that this was the kind of story that could be easily translated into a TV show...I'm looking at you CW network!

Like it says in the description "Think Sex and the City meets Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", I couldn't agree more! This is a fun, light-hearted and easy read that any twenty-something anywhere can enjoy.

Very enjoyable book. Being a 20-something myself, it was easy to relate to the situations of the characters. Could have been a bit longer, but given it was a free download, I have no complaints.

this was a nice "coming of age" book without all the "pitiful me" scenerios. Really enjoyed the ease and flow of the characters interactions throught the book. Great summer/beach read for anyone-young and old.

This light read packed a big punch! The author took on so many themes and emotions central to 20-somethings growing up and growing into the people they were meant to be. And while several of the plot lines and twists were trite, It was an enjoyable read. Though, I think younger readers--I'm 28--would likely enjoy the book more than I did.

One topic I saw several other reviewers mention was the author's use of "episodes;" most seem to find the book choppy as a result of the brief scenes. I felt very much the same as I began reading but I quickly realized that the vingettes were effective in conveying a mood. Today's world is fast-paced and hectic...especially for young adults who are still searching for themselves and their places in life. The brief "episodes" reminded me of that throughout the book. I'm not sure if that was intentional on the author's part, but well done.

I have to admit, I was reluctant to read this book because I knew it was written for young adults, and I'm not much of a YA reader. What a pleasant surprise! I'm a slow reader and I read this in one day because I couldn't put it down. The story is fast-paced and lighthearted and yet full of insights about love and life. I saw a little bit of my younger self in each of the three female characters, and it was fun to revisit my 20s. A great read.
