About the Author

Fflur Dafydd is a singer-songwriter who performs with the soul band Y Barf. A graduate of UEA's MA programme, she teaches Creative Writing at Swansea University and publishes academic articles on the poetry of RS Thomas, the subject of her PhD. She was chosen by Hay Festival in 2005 as Wales' representative for the Scritture Giovani international project for promising young short fiction writers, and has participated in festivals and residencies across the world, the latter on Bardsey Island and in Helsinki. Having first published at age 20, she is the author of two Welsh-language novels. This is her first novel in English.
