5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!
My 2 and 5 year olds love this book. It is a nice alphabet book for kids who are beyond "A is for Apple," etc. Each page has a rhyming sentence about one of the princesses, along with an illustration. Examples: "Princess Alice, first to the palace." "Princess Grace, making a face." "Princess Ruth, mithing a tooth." The sentences are simple enough for kids to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Full of bad examples for children
This book is written to teach the alphabet and rhyming, but many of the 26 princesses have bad attitudes. Children imitate what they hear, and we did not want to read our children a book filled with bad examples.

In the book there are princesses who yell, write on walls, are angry because they can't have their way, and others who just aren't being nice...

My son & daughter laughed again and again as they read (and re-read)this book. It is funny and full of cute rhymes. Since the princesses are not all doing the typical princess thing, my son thought it was just as funny as my daughter did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your average Princess book, March 19, 2010

I like this book so much, I've purchased it twice for gifts (& will continue doing so as the need arises). The whole concept is cute with each Princess's name representing a letter of the alphabet. You quickly learn these aren't ordinary Princesses and the rhyming gives you a belly laugh. There's a page at the back that says "The End". To add a personal touch, I add stick on letters and say--No, Wait, we can't forget..." Then turn the page on on the back inside cover, I put a picture of the girl I'm giving it to and add letters saying "The Prettiest Little Princess Yet."

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, cute, kids love it!, November 16, 2010
This review is from: Twenty-six Princesses (Hardcover)
Look out! These princesses will win you over!

I work with children whose parents are working out at our fitness center. We watch children from a few weeks old and up to age 12. This book has been a hit to everyone who has read it! The kids asked us to read it again and again; so many times that the book literally fell to pieces! They liked it so much that many of them had it memorized and we drew our own pictures for each page.

Some my find pages like "Princess Nell, what's that smell?" offensive because she is passing gas in the book, but seriously, what child doesn't pass gas? I think this is an opportunity for children to become a little more comfortable with their bodily functions and even get a giggle out of it. And for the sexist reviewer who cannot fathom farting would be in a child's book, no less in a princess book... I find that comment to be laced with sexism. Little princesses pass gas, too!

This book is so cute, funny, and an all around hit. I love it and would recommend buying it!

My daughter is 3 1/2 and she LOVES this book! It's such an easy read. She can't read yet and already has the whole book memorized. It's such a cute book for little girls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rotten Princesses!, January 9, 2010
This review is from: Twenty-six Princesses (Hardcover)
My 20mth old daughter received this book for Christmas 2009. I thought the princesses would be more behaved, and that there would be more storyline to each princess, but I enjoyed this book and she did too!!!

Fabulous illustrations and wonderful writing make Twenty-six Princesses a must-have for any girl or boy. The rhymes are so splendidly hilarious that our soon-to-be-reading Princess easily committed most of them to memory at once!

What a wonderful book!

In the book there are princesses who yell, write on walls, are angry because they can't have their way, and others who just aren't being nice. There's even one that says "Princess Nell. What is that smell?," and the picture shows a girl with a cloud coming from her bottom that says "toot." The girl is smiling which indicates she thinks it's funny. Many people try to teach children good manners and to say "excuse me," instead of laughing or talking about it.
