5.0 out of 5 stars Contemporary beats and synthesized melodies, October 5, 2001
This review is from: Twentyfirstcenturyskin (Audio CD)
This album was, in my opinion, a turning point for Khan. He had been known before but this album made him even more popular. I came across Khan from a WWF (now WWE) Video entitled 'Eve Of Destruction'. The track they had chosen was 'What's Wrong With Me'. I listened to that track all the time, rewinding the video back and forth. I found the contemporary beats and amazing vocals excellent. There was something about that which made me search for more Khan tracks to download.

The next track I came across was 'Visions & Imaginations'. This is the best track I have ever heard. It has a sort of ambience to it (my favourite music type) which made me fall for it. It came as a pleasent surprise when I found out that it was on the same album as 'What's Wrong With Me' (twenty first century skin). So I gave in and bought this album.

Compared to Khan's previous work this is the best. They are all really good it's just I found that this was the best as it had brilliant beats and wicked synthesized melodies.

I would choose this over any album (at time of posting) because it is SPECIAL. It has a wide variety of electronica which will appeal to anyone who likes a bit of TRANCE, TECHNO. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

5.0 out of 5 stars PROGRESSIVE ROCK for the SOUL - Khan's Best Album, July 7, 2000
This review is from: Twentyfirstcenturyskin (Audio CD)
Praga Khan, what can I say... Once upon a time there was Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, and Lords Of Acid... and out of Lords Of Acid came this amazing progressive musician called Praga Khan, who has redefined progressive rock once again with this album, which feels like a rave and a rock concert put together - it's absolutely incredible.

The amazing "Breakfast In Vegas" is by far the crowning achievement here, a delicious blend of trance, rock, and acid house. But the rest of the album plays so well you'll dance to it and forget that it's all one artists' work, with such versatility and passion, it's a must-have for progressive music fans everywhere. Also the best of Praga Khan's solo releases to date, makes all his other albums look like just a warm up to this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breakfast in Vegas Says It ALL!!!, November 21, 2000

The first song says it all! With a playful and wity way at dealing with alternative lifestyles. Truly, perfect for sitting back, or jumping up and down, whilst expanding the grey matter. Perfect for party kids coolin' down at 6 or 7 in the "morning"; or for those older hipsters bringin' it back. Totally COOL!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Praga's creative talent shines again!, July 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Twentyfirstcenturyskin (Audio CD)
Praga Khan (ie. Maurice Engelgen from Lords of Acid) write music that is high energy, danceable, but yet it's not even close to sounding like anyone else.

This CD has great acid sounds, catchy drum beats, and very sexy lyrics! Adult Entertainment is definately my favorite song. If you like Injected with the Poison or if you are a Prodigy type then pick up this CD! It's much more personal than the other stuff from Lords of Acid and there is virtually no vocals coming from Jade 4 U, but it allows Praga to really shine through even more!

At first I wondered how someone who just released a full length album 1 year ago could possibly have another album ready..but to my amazement it's here and it kicks butt!

5.0 out of 5 stars Praga at his Best!!!, September 6, 2000

This CD is simply great. All the songs on it are AWESOME, but the best part is the bonus CD. It has some of the best remixes. Some of which are not on other released CD's!! You just need to buy this CD. The 1-2 weeks is not a long wait for such a great cd

5.0 out of 5 stars Start to finish: Genius, July 9, 2000
This review is from: Twentyfirstcenturyskin (Audio CD)
This is an excellent CD. After putting out great albums like Conquers your Love and Pragamatic, Skin is a great evolution. Breakfast in Vegas, the first track may be my favorite. I can close my eyes and imagine hearing that intro when I last saw him live. It really sets the tone for the entire album, which doesn't let up or let you down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Good Stuff, definative of the genre..., November 17, 2008
This review is from: Twentyfirstcenturyskin (Audio CD)
Love this album, hate the cover image though. Wonderful club music, intellegent and fun. It grows with every listenand was kind of his pinnacle. If you like Lords of Acid and electronic and synthpop qand new wave music, this will totally be up your alley. If you like Depeche Mode and Pet SHop Boys and The Cure and Nitzer Ebb and Front 242 and oakenfold and Delerium and Erasure and Nine Inch Nails and disoc and techno, then this is for you. Hard edged but not evil. Dark but colorful. Check out all of his work, you won't be sorry...and some of his cd singles are awesome PACKED with great mixes for every taste. also check out his remix album for a wonderful sampler of his work...Oh yeah, and one of his newer albums called FREAKAZOIDZ.

4.0 out of 5 stars Techno-Industrial Fun, February 15, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Twentyfirstcenturyskin (Audio CD)
I must admit to never having heard of Praga Khan, and only barely of Lords of Acid, before I picked up this CD based upon a quick listen at Tower Records. After going through the whole thing a couple of times, I think it's a surprisingly good and danceable album. My favorite tracks are "Breakfast in Vegas", "Visions & Imaginations" (which is a bit trancey), and "Far Beyond the Sun". Many of the songs are rather simplistic, but overall it's quite fun in an industrial techno kind of way. The tone of the album reminds me somewhat of KLF's "What Time Is Love?" but without the rap and the divas, so if you like that single or dark techno in general, I recommend that you give this CD a spin.
