4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent, empathetic and funny guide to your 20's, March 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Twentysomething, Floundering, and Off the Yuppie Track: A Self-Help Guide to Making It Through Your Twenties (Paperback)
Filled with real-world tales of navigating our youthful years, this book combines humor and how-to's on a range of subjects including careers, relationships, parents and how to survive tough times. Many readers have praised its balance between encouragement/empathy and call for discipline and hard work in moving ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twenty Something: Floundering, and off The Yuppie Track, November 27, 2011
A MUST buy for any parent of a 20 something adult, or for anyone who cares about young people this age. This book is NOT a "self-help" book giving out steps of what or what not to do. It is concise and compasionate, written at a profound level by a 20 something man who "has been there". It is written in a way that relates to the young person's idealism, realizing that they have not yet gotten to the point of being "jadded" by life, but still giving them a compas to navigate their on going issues (lack of meaningful work; direction; broken relationships; moving back home, etc.). The author writes in a way that could (and will) reach young adults, it does not write to them in a condescending manner, but with respect and awareness. I found this book on one of my many searchs for used books trying to find something that would help me, and my 23 year old who until recently had been seriously underemployed. I have read it twice, shared it with him and will be buying additional copies to share with friends who have sons/daughters dealing with these very hard issues during our current difficult economy.
