5.0 out of 5 stars A welcome return to Ferry's trance roots
I have most of the Ferry Corsten catalog released in the US, and this is one of his strongest efforts. In general, the sound trends more to melodic and classic trance compared to recent efforts like "Punk" and "L.E.F", but definitely has the distinctive Ferry Corsten sound that keeps it from sounding in any way generic or cheesy. Highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Tired of CD's with separate tracks...
I hate to buy CD's of my favorite artist to find a compilation of separate tracks. Beware, this is not a mixed CD! O the other hand, the tracks are great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Listenable when not dancing or exercising, December 4, 2008

Usually Trance/Techo/House albums are fairly limited in range and variety as they most always have the same tempo and key they are recorded in and also tend to run sterile and unrelationable. This album works in the fact that songs, while keeping in consistent tempo throughtout, adds vocals in a good number of them. Therefore, there is more of a feeling of change between songs than strictly trance insturmental albums. Really enjoyable to listen too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must buy, January 30, 2009
This review is from: Twice In A Blue Moon (Audio CD)
As a general warning I'm a huge fan of trance and electro.

In my opinion everything Ferry Corsten makes sounds great (hes one of my favorite producers) and he definitely shines with Twice In A Blue Moon. Twice In a blue moon is similar to Corsten's last artiest ablum L.E.F it starts off with a great electro sound (Shelter Me and Black Velvet) as a fun dance track (We Belong) then moves into some club trance (Gabriella's Sky and Made of love and finally ends with what I consider Corsten's signature style (honestly i don't have a grouping for it). Twice In A Blue Moon takes kinda a different turn from the normal progressive electro Crosten does having more of a smooth trance tone but still glitchy and dirty like electro.

I love the whole CD but some notable tracks on the album are:
-We Belong
-Made of love (played on state of trance as well as during Armin Van Buuren's 9 hour new years set at together as one)
-Life
-Brain Box
-Shanti

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bomb! Nuclear one., November 7, 2008
This review is from: Twice In A Blue Moon (Audio CD)
Without going at lengths which is somewhat dumb when talking about music I will just say this is gonna be the album of the year in trance music. There is one song I didn't like too much, the rest are gems.

If you like electronic dance music, or just something rhythmic, melodic and beautiful - buy it.

Mind-boggling, throwing shivers back your spine and butterflies down your stomach, this album will get you moving in awe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, October 8, 2009

This is a mature and well put together album by ferry. This is his best work by far! I'm very, but very pleased and happy for his amazing productions and new classics like "Made Of Love," "Radio Crash," and "We Belong." From song 1 "Shelter Me" the album is set to be melodic, uplifting (Twice In A Blue Moon), downbeat(Black Velvet), and electro-progressive-trance experiments that sound perfect and give me an extraordinary ear pleasure (Feel You)... not to bribe on ferry, but lately we all know how the EDM genre keeps on getting more and more predictable and mainstream... and ferry has stuck to the origins of dance and brought this album, which in my opinion deserves more that 5 stars. Thank You Ferry.

If you remember the thrill of listening to an album like 'Homework' or 'Discovery' for the first time or 'Orbital' when they first hit and have been pretty much indulged by the latest offerings of Van Buuren, Thrillseekers, Tiesto, Schulz and Digweed then be prepared for this because while Ferry Corsten has been a DJ to watch for just get this and see the leap he has just made. This is a work of art and highly unexpected. My iPod has done nothing but play this over and over and it just keeps getting better and better. This is the kind of material that all trance lovers lament for. Here it is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ferry's best work to date IMHO, April 8, 2009
This review is from: Twice In A Blue Moon (Audio CD)
wow I wrote a long detailed review about this album a couple weeks ago and I was disappointed to see that it never got posted. Oh well. In short, this is the best trance album of the year so far. I have been listening to Ferry for quite a long time, especially his work on Gouryella, and I will agree with some of the other reviewers in that he has gone back to his classic roots on some of the tracks. I haven't heard a trance album this good in a very long time. The only other albums that I can think of that measures up to this album are from the likes of ATB(No Silence) or PVD(Politics of Dancing). It is rare that you find an album that you can listen to from beginning to end, over and over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another of Ferry's Finest, March 16, 2009

Once again, Ferry Corsten doesn't disappoint. A bit slow to start off with Shelter Me, but he wastes no time getting to the meat, especially with tracks like We Belong, and the title track Twice in a Blue Moon, topping it off with his remix of U2's New Years Day. Any fan of Ferry will certainly not be let down with this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, January 5, 2009

Could this be Ferry Corsten's best solo work yet? It sure sounds like it in my opinion. A couple of tracks almost feel like they belong on L.E.F., but then again they fit good on this album also. Besides having to pay over $20+ bucks for this import, I really can't complain.
