Enchanting love story!,
By Jayne Elliott "Lovin' Romances" (Dublin, NH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Twice A Princess (Silhouette Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you like a little magic in your romance, be sure to read this charmer by Susan Meier. The tale of two spellbound royals was a page turning romp. Princess Merry and Prince Alec must overcome all personal obstacles, including a new spin on the old fairytale curse, to find true love and beat the odds against them--and any chance of a happily-ever-after fate.
I liked Merry and Alec. I also like stories where there are secrets between a man and a woman who are falling for each other, especially a secret that threatens to foil their future. You know the secret has to be revealed, only you never know when or how. Or how much damage will result. I've enjoyed many of Meier's previous books. In TWICE A PRINCESS, I wasn't disappointed. Once again, Meier does what she does best--weaves a web of enchantment to keep her readers and fans enthralled.

What fun!,

I'm afraid I have to disagree with the reviewer who gave this book 2 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed it, from the fabulous cover to the satisfying ending. Merry and Prince Alec's tale was witty and charming, a total Cinderella fantasy that had me smiling often. Nice escapist fiction!

Will the Real Spoiled Brat please stand up?,
This review is from: Twice A Princess (Silhouette Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
In this final installment of the "In a Fairytale World . . ." series, enchanted princess-turned-resort-manager Merry Montrose finds her own True Love with (not surprisingly) Alexander Rochelle,resort-owner-in-disguise.
Except that Alexander is really Prince Alec, the guy Merry has been betrothed to all this time. But SHE doesn't know that. The disappointing part is that Alexander, who was shaping up to be a pretty decent guy in the previous books, here morphs into a cynical, critical, short-sighted, self-centered jerk. He constantly puts the worst possible spin on Merry's motives, and has an incredibly high opinion of himself. Meanwhile, Merry has developed a conscience, so it's even harder to imagine her paired with him. Also irritating is the plot device of the curse Merry is under; here, every time the lead couple gets close to working something out, Meier introduces a new aspect of the curse to foil their plans. THAT gets old really fast. So--read this if you're dying to finish the series. And remember: they lived happily ever after--sort of. |
