Amazing and very interesting,
This review is from: Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion (Paperback)
This book is really fantastic. There are great shots from the production of the film along with still shots from the film itself. What truly makes this book are the stories from people behind the scenes. Ever wondered how they found their locations, why costumes were chosen, how things progressed? This book covers all aspects of the making of the film with great commentary from the people who were involved. The photos just enhance everything - especially the final shot of Bella and Edward as he decides he "just wants to try something" - i.e. the kiss!

Great Book For any Twilight Fan to add to Collection,
This review is from: Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion (Paperback)
This is an amazing book and completly worth the price. Anyone who is a Twilight fan and cannot wait for the movie's release date will really enjoy this book. Many images are never before seen pictures from the movie. I was truly blown away by the amount and quailty of the images. There are great pictures of stills of the movie and production shots, especially a number of great shots of Edward and Bella, along with the rest of the Cullen family. I truly was able to grasp a better sense of the movie and how the filmmaker's created the world of Twilight. Many scenes of the film are shown throughout the book that I was very happy to see in the Twilight movie that I had not seen before in any trailers or previous movie stills. The book also contains many interesting details about how decisions were made along the filmmaking process from the director, set designer, stunt coordinator, and hair and make-up artists. Details are included you won't find anywhere else, right down to the progression of each character's distinct appearance through the film and how they got Edward to sparkle.

Great Book,
This review is from: Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion (Paperback)
I was a little skeptical when I ordered this, but it arrived yesterday (and besides the fact that it's bent), the pictures are great! And I agree with the other reviewer, the close-ups of the actors are the best part! :)

No new information- just stuff you probably already know,
This review is from: Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion (Paperback)
This book was okay but didn't really give any interesting behind the scenes information. To be honest the book seemed like it was stuffed with boring repetitive jibberish just to fill up the book. For example, if you are buying the book you've probably seen the movie and/or read the books. Why then would you need to have the ENTIRE movie plot described to you (throughout the whole book)? I don't mean described and analyzed or described while adding insightful details or information. Just described. A good part of the book is devoted to this and it just seemed to me to be useless, and like I said, filler to make the book bigger. Don't get me wrong, the book is not horrible, just not what I expected. I didn't learn anything about the movie, books, etc. by reading this. There are some good photos but I was overall a little disappointed. If you are considering buying this book, I recommend waiting for Catherine Hardwick's book about the making of the movie to come out (March 17). Her book is about the same price and hopefully will actually have some new information and be worth the buy.

I received this yesterday, and spent all evening reading about the making of the movie, etc. and looking at all the pictures (they were wonderful). Beautiful pix of Edward and Bella! For anyone that's planning on seeing the movie, or anyone that's a Twilighter (like me) and loves anything connected to Twilight, I highly recommend!

Splendid,
This review is from: Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion (Paperback)
This book has me so unbelievably excited for when the movie comes out. It's loaded with wonderful pictures of the actors on set and filled with all kinds of juicy details about the background of the film. I am still not completely finished reading the entire series, so seeing the faces of the actors give me faces to picture as I read, which has made it all the more enjoyable. For me personally, the pictures of Robert Pattinson/Edward are the icing on the cake. For anyone who owns the book, or even just takes a peak at it in a store, how disgustingly gorgeous/smoldering/adorable can he possibly be on pages 21, 55, and 92?? I'm 29 but I'm swooning like a 13 year old!! Great book!!

The photography in this book is amazing. The problem is that the author is no "Twilight" expert. From incorrect spelling of Emmett's name, to saying that Carlisle's father was a Catholic priest. His father was a Protestant. It is a shame that one of the multitude of "Twilight" addicts was not the author of this book as at least it would have been accurate and a little more interesting.
Buy it for the photography. It reminds me of the movie itself in the capacity that it provides a great visual for the books. Meyer is such a great author. Hopefully the next movie and movie guide will do her fabulous writing more justice. |
