5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait!, March 15, 2000
This review is from: In the Twilight, in the Evening (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #6) (Hardcover)
This is a really good book. with each of the Cheney books, you think you can't get any more climatic, then suddenly You are suprised and left gasping for breath! Book six is taking the cake. can't wait, can't wait! out of the series, Book six isn't my favorite. but it is absolutely necessary background for continuing the series. So much happens with Cheney, and With Shiloh. It's one more step towards finding his family, and One more step for Cheney in trusting God with her whole life, especially her emotions. DON'T READ BOOKS 7 OR 8 WITHOUT READING 6! Please see my member profile for links to the Cheney duvall Message board, and my Cheney Duvall Website.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gilbert and Lyn Morris do it again!!, November 27, 1998
By A Customer
Once again Gilbert and his daughter Lyn Morris provide us with quality and entertaining piece of reading. In the Twilight, In the Evening is a wonderful example of what a fine writting team that we have in our world. As always it is a pleasure to sit down and read a novel by these two, but I couldn't help but feel disappointed that the last novel in this series was such a long way from publication. For as it always is books in a series leave you in a state of fustration wanting to know what is going to happern. The characters in this story are so believeable that it is not hard to grow to love them and find yourself anxious to know that they are safe and have found the elusive happily ever after. I have spent much time following the antics of Dr. Cheney Duvall and her friend Victoria. Many times i have been moved to laughter and tears by the soulful writing of this father-daughter team. If you are looking for a book that is filled with historical accuracy and an indepth look into the experiences and the plight of the Chinese in Eighteenth Century San Francisco, you will not go wrong with this book. It is an enjoyable read from which you will walk away with a new insight into history.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good plot & characterization; leaves you longing for Book 7!, December 15, 1997
By A Customer
The Morris team once again does a great job of developing the relationship between Cheney and Shiloh, while continuing to allow each character to develop independently.

The plot develops well until the last chapter and epilogue when events seem to happen that have only loose threads of continuity to the first part of the story. Although you are left in anticipation as Cheney decides to follow Shiloh, the events leading to her decision are sketchy and leave one wondering how it all came about.

All in all, this is a well written, enjoyable, informative and easy to read story.

5.0 out of 5 stars In the Twilight, In the Evening! Great!, September 25, 2011
By

Another outstanding novel by the Morris duo! As usual, great historical. In this book, the Morris's emphasize the Christian growth of the characters, particularly Cheney. The love story is devine! As this series develops, I get the strong affirmation that God creats a special person for everyone. There is such humility in Shiloh and such devotion to the true love of his life - even when he is not certain he will ever have her for his own. Afterall, they come from different classes in society. But are they really so different? I think probably not...God is not a respecter of persons and I see an admirable character developing in Cheney - while she notes the differences in classes, she loves and respects all people. A bit of Jesus in her? Most certainly. Enjoy reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars Mostly a good book, with some long stretches., May 4, 2001

(REAL NAME)
Cheney takes a job in a San Francisco hospital as its first female physician. Despite a few problems that erupt, for the most part she enjoys her job, with occasional outings with her friends. Shiloh meets Bain Winslow from Hawaii, who turns out to be his first real lead as to who his real parents are. Some parts of this book may seem frustrating, while others go very quickly. This is probably one of the most important books in the series (and of course, you have to read them all to know what's going on)!

4.0 out of 5 stars I love the series and enjoyed this book., November 21, 1998

This is one of the better Cheney Duvall books. It has some loose ends, but those are quickly tied up in #7, which I have read. I love the way Cheney grows in her spiritual walk, even if she does act selfishly sometimes. Read more about this book at the Official Cheney Duvall M.D. web site. Way to go, Gilbert and Lynn!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!! Exciting with a touch of romance., August 6, 1998
By A Customer
This was a wonderful book. I really enjoyed it. And it is really hard for me to enjoy books as a teen this really focuses on Cheney and Shiloh. But you all have to realize it probably will get boring after they get together. I think that is what they tried to do in the first on and decided to prolong thier getting together. And she even said in this book she didn't really love him yet. Anywayz it was great.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Inspiring Novel!!!, June 11, 1998
By A Customer
I loved this book. I am an avid reader of this series and am anxiously awaiting the seventh book. Cheney's faith through tough times and her reliance on God is a lesson to all and truly touched my life! The book is set in San Francisco and draws on the city's interesting backfround as a backdrop for the book. It is wonderfully written book. In The Twilight In the Evening has a taste of adventure romance comedy and inspiration! I give it 2 thumbs up!

Perhaps the best "page turner" of the Cheney Duvall series. This book is comfortable to follow but as I kept wanting to read it to find out what happens next, I found myself not wanting it to end.......then it would be over!
