5.0 out of 5 stars Not exactly Black Metal, but still incredible. , July 26, 2004
By dAHMER (Ohio, United States) - See all my reviews
This album is a freaking masterpiece. I was a little surprised when the whole album wasn't as intense as the first (and amazing) track 'Procreating Satan', but that doesn't mean the rest of the album isn't killer. The vocals are sinister, and parts of 'Exit-Through Carved Stones' even creeped me out a bit. The guitars, while appearing more typical metal-ish than black metal, are still genius and infectious. Add in some drums that really hook, and you've got one incredible album that you can not help but bob your head to.

Of all the 8 tracks, only one isn't a song, and that is the last track "Domine in Virtute tua Laetabitur Rex'. Thumbs up to Gorgoroth for not sticking that one in the middle of the album so I don't have to skip it. Out of the 7 remaining songs, the first 4 songs really stand out, as does 'Blod og Minne'.

'Twilight of the Idols- in conspiracy with Satan' may be a short album, but it seriously delivers. Worthy of being listened to over and over and over and over...

4.0 out of 5 stars Noisy Blast of Evil, February 24, 2007
By S. Sommerville (Raleigh, NC) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Not a shabby tune in the bunch. The opening track is on the verge of white noise and then goes into some insane mixed vocals-- very nice track.

The overall sound is pretty raw, noisy, and weaves in and out of slow, gloomy sludge into blazing grind. Very brutal album, worthy of your hard earned cash...

5.0 out of 5 stars Evil Masterwork, July 24, 2004
By Hellforge (brooklyn, ny United States) - See all my reviews
Make no mistake, Twilight is a great piece of music and a masterwork. A combination of furious guitars, keen drumming, violent vocals (provided by the great Ghaal) and sometimes odd effects, industrial noises, and a keyboard piece make this a truely black and evil album.
Though some may say it makes little ground compared to Destroyer or Incipit Satan, this album is more together than the others. While Destroyer is all over the place, and Incipit Satan goes from great to mediocre, Twilight is a refined and finished piece from start to finish.
