1 of 7 people found the following review helpful By Missy Hoppe on September 22, 2011
One of these days, I'm going to learn not to waste my money on the Tunner dolls which are supposedly based on the characters from Twilight. I'm more or less totally blind, but do have light and color perception, so wanted to collect the dolls to give me a general idea what the characters "looked like" I had mental pictures in my head based on the books; I don't count the movies, because from what I've been told, none of the characters look the way they're described in the books. Naturally, because he's my favorite character by far, I started out buying the Edward doll. Upon receiving him, I was very, very disappointed. Unless my eyes are worse than I think they are, his hair color was totally wrong. I ended up getting the Barbie version of Edward and was much, much happier; that doll's hair looked a lot closer to the way I imagined Edward's hair looking based on the descriptions in the book. I got the Tunner Alice doll, and she wasn't quite as disappointing, but again, I ended up being much happier with the Barbie version.
So, since I'm obviously too stubborn to learn after being disappointed twice, I spend money on this Jasper doll. The books clearly state that Jasper has Blonde hair, but this doll has very dark hair, pretty much identical to Tunner's Edward doll. Talk about a major disappointment. I'm currently pretending it's an Emmett doll, just so I don't feel like I wasted my money, and because the hair looks kind of like the way Emmett's is described in the books.
So, I think I've finally learned my lesson: No more Tunner dolls for me. Hopefully the entire Cullen family will eventually become available in Barbie form; at least they make an effort to be faithful to the characters as portrayed in the books.
