Twilight Limited Edition Official Complete Jewelry Set of the Cullen Family

I've never purchased any type of jewelry online before. I bought this set because I enjoyed the movie, which was done on a shoe-string budget in an old-fashioned timeless type of style, and I thought having something to commemorate a "fun" old-fashioned romance style movie with a Vampire sci-fi action twist would be cool especially since I have also read the enjoyed the twilight books. I purchased this set on December 2nd and it was delivered on December 8th with Amazon's free shipping, so it came fast!
All of the Jewelry pieces have crests, the CULLEN Crest which are silver (steel?) on black backgrounds. The set is beautiful, the display case they came in is fancy as well. The top and the bottom of the protective display box are designed to stay connected together because they are attached by a piece of black diagonal silk-like fabric, even when open. The autographed card by Peter Facinelli (Dr Cullen) is 5" by 7",(Stunning!)it was located behind the top piece of foam protecting the five limited edition Jewelry pieces. The autographed card is held to the inside of the upper lid by two other white pieces of diagonal silk-like fabric. Every piece in the set is a lot larger in actuality than I originally anticipated which was a nice surprise.
All of the pieces in my set, including Edward's wrist cuff are well made and durable. I'm female, but surprisingly Edward's wrist cuff does fit on my own wrist. Dr. Cullen's ring is to big for me to wear, but solid and well made. Esme's braclet is interesting style-wise because it has four components to grip your wrist/uppper arm & I'm glad it fits as well. I have not tried Alice's choker yet as I have never worn a choker before and I will probably need to ask a more expierenced friend of mine how to wear it, but I like the feel of the soft velvet-like material of it, and it looks to be both adjustable as well as durable. Rosalie's necklace is easy to wear, but again heavier than expected. These are most definately NOT TOYS. They are heavy, solid pieces. I paid Amazon 99.99 for my limited edition Cullen Jewelery set and it was definately worth every penny. I'm so glad Amazon made this set available.
I'm still waiting for: 1) the Twilight boardgame which comes out in January 2009, which will be available from TFAW and sounds like it will be a "RISK" style boardgame. 2) the 7" articulated (i.e. multi-jointed and poseable) Edward Action figure doll by NECA (based on the movie) also available in January 2009; 3) the 15" (movie version) Bella Swan doll; and 4)the 17" (movie Version) Edward doll being released by TonnerDirect with 15 and 14 points of articulation respectively. The Tonnerdirect dolls will also be available in 2009 and Tonnerdirect is planning on producing official dolls of all the Cullens and potentially other "twilight" characters as well. (Awesome!) I hope this helps anyone interested in twilight themed items, or the jewelry set specifically.
About my chosen ratings: I gave 4 stars overall because I averaged the 3 components. I only gave 4 stars in the fun category because my fingers do not fit Dr cullen's ring which is not that surprising, since guys have larger fingers than women in general, and because I have not figured out how to wear Alice's choker yet, thus I have not been able to enjoy Alice's Choker other than the feel of the velvet -like material. Educational got 3 stars because Amazon could have included a little note on heraldic history about the meaning of the "cullen crest" and what the different aspects of the crest itself individually represent. Durability got 5 stars because these pieces are definately all well made.

I bought this jewelry set just before Amazon sold out and the price inflation with other sellers started. The quality of these pieces seemed better than what I remembered when I first saw them sold individually in Borders. In particular, I think the velvet ribbon used in Alice's choker is of pretty good quality. As far as I can tell, each piece is identical to the pieces used in the movie. NECA did a pretty good job recreating each piece. I have compared these pieces to zoomed-in photos and movie stills, and I couldn't find any significant differences. I even compared Peter Facinelli's ring (Carlisle's ring) to the original ring that is currently sold on Ebay as part of a charity auction in Bonnie Hunt's Show. I think the luster, material, and casting is essentially the same. The only difference is that the one sold on Ebay has a signature from Peter Facinelli. Each piece of jewelry is made of very solid and dense material, which can be reflected on the weight of it when wearing it.

The certificate of authenticity with Peter Facinelli's signature is found behind the cushioning foam in the box, so it can be difficult to locate at first. I read many reviews saying that they didn't find a signed card in the box, so I was worried at first. The signature is hand-signed with a black marker and appears different for each set. This special touch to this set makes it worth collecting. The packaging is excellent, all items were securely strapped in to prevent damage during shipping. Overall, I'm really satisfied with this order and would recommend it to any Twilight fan.

The quality of the jewelry in this set is really good! All of the pieces are extremely durable and well crafted with an aged antique look. The authentic autographed card of Peter Facinelli is a great addition!

However, for the price, I feel that the box could have been made out of something more durable, such as wood. Other than that, there are no complaints, it makes a great collectible.

Due to the tough economic times, this was really the only big thing I could splurge for my 14 year old daughter's Christmas, and I was able to lock in the price at $99 dollars and not the almost $300 dollar price. My girl actually cried when she opened it (since she had known I wouldn't buy it at the $300 dollar price). She was sure glad I shopped online early!

The jewelry itself is very durable and looks exactly like the jewelry worn by the cast in the movie (with the possible exception of Dr. Carlisle Cullen's ring, which looks bigger in the replica). I've read several reviews about the missing autographed picture and letter of authenticity - I can't say that they're wrong, but I can say that mine was hidden behind the protective grey foam on the inside cover of the lid on my copy, so I'd encourage the purchaser to look carefully in your jewel box for it.

I consider it well worth the $99 dollar price, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $300 list price now. Perhaps purchasing some of the items separately would be a smarter financial move. If bought separately, I highly recommend the choker and the necklace. The bracelet is pretty, but my daughter found it hard to put on (she had to bend the bands back to slip it on). The ring is lovely, but very large and not really something that a young girl would probably wear (although you could use the chain from the necklace and string the ring through it to wear around the neck). The wrist band is cool looking, but we're still trying to figure out exactly how to tie the leather ties together (lol).

Box is paper and cardboard. and if you buy the items seperatly its much cheaper.

OK...so I bought this when it was $99.99. It's a GREAT collection and I wouldn't trade mine for anything. If you have to chance at finding this at it's original price definatly get it! It's a great buy for a Twilight fan...but I wouldn't spend a dime over the original price (I had trouble enought talking myself into buying it when it was just 99.99...$250 is just plain rediculous).

I don't actually own this collection as I missed out on the decent $99.00 price. I think it is utterly insane for Amazon to raise the price so drastically on the item. This shows a complete sence of utter greed. If the price was meant to be $99.00 then it should have stayed at that price. Raising an items price, due to high interest is wrong. I think they wanted to test the waters with the 99.00 to see the amount of demand and as demand grew so did the price. Each piece alone is aprox 20.00 making it 100.00 and I really don't think that the autograhed pic is worth and extra 289.00. So why the jacked up price??? GREED!!!!

I have no idea why this jewelry set is in the toy category on amazon, but nevertheless, this is a great product. I caught it at $99 though, and there is no way I would pay $269. Don't get me wrong, the jewelry is wonderful! Very exquisite, detailed and durable. But charging $269 for it is just robbery.

If the price ever goes back down, I highly suggest this jewelry set.

I must say this set is absolutely lovely! The jewelry is so gorgeous I'm almost afraid to wear it! I don't know why it got so expensive all of a sudden, but what was once $99 is now $279. I guess that's the law of supply and demand. The jewelry is a nice heavy metal and the display box showcases it very well! I think I'm going to get some of the pieces sepparately so I can actually wear them without soiling the collection.

Recieved my set day before yesterday and they are EXACT replicas of the Cullen Crest jewelry from the movie. Soooo much more beautiful in person than in the picture. Definitely worth the money for this collectible. If you're a Twilight fan at all you will want to get this fast!
