Twilight "New Moon" Prop Replica (Volturi Crest Necklace)

This looks just like the ones in the movie, I was so excited to get it and wear to the premier. However in order to get it on and off you have to bend the metal, which makes me worried to wear it because it might break. Great item, great to look at, but I will only wear once.

This is a very exquisite, elegant piece of jewelry.

It's beautiful, only true twilight fans can see it and recognize it.

I wore it to the New Moon premiere yesterday and, I wasn't the only one wearing it...lol

This is a very lightweight necklace and feels durable. It is not very long, same length as most necklaces. Pendant is 2-3 inches long.

Twilight is very much a mixed bag for me. I have a love-hate relationship with the books. The movies hover between the "so bad they're good" genre and plain stinkers, and honestly could have used a touch of Jerry Bruckheimer to liven things up. I happen to like celebrity reproduction and movie/TV prop jewelry, most of the time regardless of the source material if it's a good piece. Usually it's something big, unique and no one else has it or would consider wearing it-- even if they COULD pull it off. This was just the sort of big, bold piece I loved, so I checked it out.

The mass-marketing and price points for the prop jewelry for New Moon led me to believe that it would be way below par (and some of it is), but this Volturi necklace is really only a step or two away from the quality of the Lord of the Rings pieces by the Noble Collection. (Why vampires who ought to be trying to blend in need an identifying logo is beyond me, but in a world where emo vampires sparkle and werewolves "imprint" on toddlers, why nitpick over understanding?) It is a heavy piece, with the stones placed exactly right, and tiny details in the pendant. I do wish both of the stones could have been blood red, instead of the oval being pinkish.

The chain is long enough for it to be wearable for most anyone, and surprisingly sturdy. The problem comes in with the clasp, which is meant to be bent in and out of shape each time you fasten the necklace. The metal is VERY soft, and without extreme diligence and care, it is sure to break within a few wearings. It's an easy fix, but was a regular lobster-claw clasp, or even a durable hook so much to ask?

The clasp can easily be fixed, but it does stop me short of giving this piece five stars. I recommend it for prop jewelry enthusiasts, Twilight fans, and for anyone who just likes to wear unique and interesting accessories every day. Just don't wear it at Fangtasia if you don't want to be laughed out of the club. :-)

I also own the Rosalie Cullen Crest Necklace, and when I recieved this one in the mail, the chain seemed a lot thinner and more frail then the other, but when compared side-by-side they measured out the same, but Rosalie's is a sort of double chain, which makes it more sturdy.
The Pendant itself is very pretty. About the same size as Rosalie's.
My complaints include the clasp and the chain. The clasp is not a regular clip-like clasp, it's a hook made of weak, wirey metal that you bend and unbend to make it open and close. Doesn't seem like it would last very long. Good thing they sell replacement clasps you can just add onto anything!
The chain is awkwardly long. This might not be an issue for some, I'm simply not a fan of long necklaces.
Overall, I'd give it an 8... but that 8 is for Twilight Fans, people buying it just as a collector's item or for other purposes would probably give it a 5.

I ordered this to wear to the newest Twilight movie Breaking Dawn part 1. I am happy with the necklace as it looks like the ones in the movie worn by the Volturi members. It is fairly heavy metal construction with an approx. 22" chain. The only drawback is the type of clasp it has. It is "S" shaped and would require you to unbend & bend the clasp shut to take it on & off; this could eventually would cause metal fatigue & cause it to break depending on how much you did it. Fortunately it slips over my head easily, so I don't have an issue with it.

I have posted 3 different views of the necklace & clasp to give you a better idea of the product. For me, I'm very happy with it!

I ordered this as part of a halloween costume, as I was going as a Volturi. It looks identical to the crest necklace worn in the movie and the other party goers who are familiar with the Twilight series recognized it immediately and gave it rave reviews. I won't have much call for it at any other time than with my costume, but it was the perfect touch needed to pull off the look.

What was received is what was ordered, and in a short amount of time. The clasp of the necklace leaves a lot to be desired, but other than that it was good. I would have preferred to pay less, but one can't be too choosey when they need to get their costume details correct.

I bought this for my "Jane" from Twilight Halloween costume. It is made out of metal, and is about the quality you would expect of a $15-20 necklace. The crest itself is heavier than I expected (in a good way), and the chain is a lighter weight (but still metal). I read some negative feedback about the clasp. Yes, it is flexible. It should be fine as long as you don't pull it back and forth as many times as you can. Just open it gently, and close it gently. If you are worried about it, I'm sure you could put a different type on pretty easily. The color of the bottom gem is bright red, and the gem on the top is a lighter red/kind of purple. The necklace comes to the middle of my chest, so it is not a choker and not extremely long. Overall, a great addition to my costume!
