5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for any Twilight fan! December 10, 2008
Format:Audio CD
I'm thrilled that the filmmakers decided to release the "Twilight" movie score, composed by Carter Burwell. After devouring the "Twilight" soundtrack and listening to it non-stop for a few weeks now, I was pleased to have my hands on the score and actually relive the background music from the movie.

This score does not disappoint. If you're a fan of the film, then the score is a wonderful way of taking the movie with you, so to speak. From the opening scenes ("How I Would Die") to the breathtaking conclusion ("Edward at her Bed"), this score covers the various moods, emotions, suspense and romance of the film. To truly get the full musical experience of the film, you really would want to get this and the original soundtrack because these two go hand-in-hand. If you're a fan of the books, then this would be the perfect CD to listen to as you snuggle up to read (or re-read) the books and dive into Bella and Edward's world. And if you're a soundtrack fan, then this CD - under the very capable hands of Carter Burwell - should be a worthy addition to your classical score collection.

This score does a superb job of covering the 'light' and 'dark' facets of the film. Darkness is represented by tracks like "Treaty," "Humans are Predators Too" and "Showdown in the Ballet Studio." Lightness is represented in "I Dreamt of Edward," "The Lion Fell in Love with the Lamb" and "Dinner with his Family." My favorites would have to be the soaring and beautiful "Bella's Lullaby" and the unapologetically romantic "The Lion Fell in Love with the Lamb" (which also happen to be some of my favorite parts in the movie - the meadow scene and the tree-climbing/piano scenes).

I bought this CD because I am a big fan of the books and the movie. I hadn't heard of Carter Burwell until his work in "Twilight" and I will definitely be keeping my eye on him from now on. The "Twilight" score is superb and I highly recommend it to fans of the film and books, as well as those who enjoy soundtracks and classical music. A keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly Edward and Bella December 11, 2008
By C. G.
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Mainly, the word "passion" comes to mind when listening to this cd. It's so magificent and beautiful. Of course, this music follows the movie, but works while reading the book as well just as easily. This music is compelling, heart-wrenching, and endearing to the listeners. It tugs at anyone's heart-strings and lifts you up only to knock you down and again make the full circle of lifting you up.

You can practically hear Bella and Edward falling into love during the course of the music. The album best represents their desires, their fears, the terror(s) they face, and the unexplicable love they share for one another. This score was made with love and I recommend this to any "Twilight" fan. After listening to this album, it would be hard not to bask in the optimism that love promises-especially in Edward and Bella's case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Score for a Great Movie and Book December 17, 2008
Format:Audio CD
Carter Burwell is an extremely talented composer and I greatly enjoy the score to the movie. I only wish certain pieces were longer, but that doesn't deter me from playing the CD constantly, both at home as I re-read the series, on the way to work and just to relax with. I hope he continues on with the rest of the series as it's developed and made.

Looking for more instumental cd's like this one
In my opinion, other than the Twilight score, the best scores that flow with emotion are the Michael Collins soundtrack by Elliot Goldenthal and Braveheart. I also like the music from Waking Ned Devine and The Secret of Roan Inish.

Rob's song in movie
Yes, he was singing in the background while he was sucking James' venom out of Bella's body. As far as I know it is only available on the digital version of the album on itunes it is called "Let Me Sign". Hope this helps:)

Rob's Lullaby should be a bonus track
I definitely agree with you that Bella's lullaby is supposed to be the piano only and that I also like Carter's version, but all the other instruments involved kind of threw me off. If they gave us Rob's version of the lullaby that would be amazing!! He is such a talented person and if they could... Read more

Who's the artiist...Song- "I found you"
The name of the song is "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by the group Iron & Wine. It is on the sound track which I'm sure you have probably found by now. It's one of my favorite though so I couldn't help but try to help you find it. Enjoy!
