diverse tunes with great group sound, March 14, 2005
What really hit me was the diverse styles of jazz that the group covered, and covered well. Outhouse was high energy. Twilight World really showed Hines' ability to make a McPartland tune shine. I wish she had written more for the album because I really enjoyed Traces with April Hall on vocals. The group worked well together and I was impressed with Hines' ability to make the group sound the more important goal rather than her own emphasis. Bergonzi was amazing and provides us with another reason why he's a living legend.
