5.0 out of 5 stars Melodic & Gothic Metal - Not Rock November 24, 2011
By Adsuki
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I'm sorry but I keep hearing a lot of people saying this is a J-Rock Band. I'm sorry, but it's not Rock. SCANDAL is Rock & Pop. Exist Trace is an all female visual-kei band. Jyou has some harsh growling in Judea and harsh screaming, I was impress on what she could do. Naoto has some heavy bass sounds like Paul Gray did, maybe heavier, and harder. Mally actually knows how to throw a hard beat, keeping up with the tones to the guitar. Omi knows how to play those solos, melodic solos, to heavy solos. Miko is the one who mainly writes the lyrics and music for the band, but you wouldn't believe this if I told you. Omi wrote some lyrics and music for the band, and it turned out great. If the entire band worked hard for lyrics and music, I'm sure it would turn out even better, going off the charts but still, the solos, the music, how Jyou sings is just simply amazing. If you like Exist Trace, then buy this. It's a must have if your into DevilDriver or Gothic Metal bands. It's a combination of the two really, in my own opinion. If your wondering how good they are, then listen to Judea (original, not the remake) and Resonance. I find the remake of Judea not as heavy or harsh sounding as the original did. =)

This is one of the metal bands i've ever heard. You cannot go wrong buying this album. All the songs are top notch and these girls can play with the guys any day of the week. I can't stop listening to it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing group, great album, these chicks rock! June 21, 2011
Format:Audio CD
I've only been following this group for about a year and I have to say they're pretty damn amazing. An all female, Japanese rock band that have a great, unique, and hard hitting sound.

Jyou has amazing vocal range and a great growl. I'm always looking forward to Omi's guitar solos, Naoto's heavy bass and Mally's energetic drums build a great foundation for the rest of the band to play off of. Miko the "leader", writes most of the songs and brings a unique guitar style that contrasts Omi perfectly. Want a taste, Youtube their new single TRUE, and witness the double-guitar solo, woOt!

If you like J-rock, strong female vocals and hard hitting everything, this is a must buy. I prefer some songs from their EP's that didn't make it to this album, but the ones they chose are still great and the new ones they added are as well.

Oh and I'm a straight guy, who's not into visual kei. I only happened on this group because they were announced as guests at Sakura-con in Seattle, WA. I saw them live and fell in love. I'm writing this in hopes that more people will give them a good listen.
