5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic mug, March 10, 2006

This review is from: Twin Pack 12-oz. Travel Mugs (Misc.)
This is one of the best coffee mugs I have ever used and I had previously bought a lot and have been disappointed. Being vacuum insulated, the product keeps coffee hot for a long time! Also, the top has a neat 360 degree sip feature that also minimizes spill potential. The only knock is that the stainless steel outer body is prone to denting which makes it look bad. The mug is also small at 12 oz but is perfect for use with my "3 cup" french press.

The only mug that is better is also available at Target. It is a 14oz vacuum insulated mug also made by Thermos but costs 50% more at $15 each. Check both of them out and then buy.

These mugs are not cheap so don't go leaving them around! I have lost two already at work or on the go somewhere. Maybe my coworkers stole them...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best, December 7, 2005

This review is from: Twin Pack 12-oz. Travel Mugs (Misc.)
As an avid coffee drinker/elementary teacher, I am always looking for a coffee cup that allows me to have hot coffee all morning long. I purchased these about 6 months ago and I was shocked at how long the coffee stays hot, not just warm! I've had a lot of other coffee mugs, but this is bar far the best and a great value too!

It's hard to find that "perfect" travel mug. Most mugs are either too bulky, too top-heavy, or just look too ugly to have on your desk. But these are very simply-designed and look quite sleek. I've received many compliments from my co-workers about these mugs. It feels like you're holding a pop can in your hand, so it's very easy to handle. Also, I agree with the previous reviewer that these keep things hot a LONG time--the last time I checked, my coffee stayed hot for over 5 hours. It's easy to clean and I've even tossed them in my dishwasher without any problems. The only draw-back I can think of is that it doesn't have a self-closing drink spout or tiny lid which you can close, so if you knock it over, it will spill--but not much. I highly recommend these.

5.0 out of 5 stars thermos cups, January 10, 2007
This review is from: Twin Pack 12-oz. Travel Mugs (Misc.)
By far the best travel mug out there. Keeps your coffee hotter, longer than any other mug I've tried. I searched everywhere for this particular cup until I finally found it on Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these tumblers, January 7, 2007
This review is from: Twin Pack 12-oz. Travel Mugs (Misc.)
This purchase was to replace a Thermos tumbler that I lost in September. A friend teases me that I don't go anywhere without my water cup. She is correct. These keep ice all day. All I do is refill the water and I have great ice water all day. I can only imagine how good they would be with hot beverages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Low Center of Gravity - No Spill- 360 Drink Angle - Low Heat Loss, October 27, 2006
By
This review is from: Twin Pack 12-oz. Travel Mugs (Misc.)
This is the best CAR coffee cup I have ever used. So good I am buying a second double pack before they are gone. I studied chemistry in college and had a few physics classes. I guarantee you this simple cup was designed by an engineer.

The center of mass is low - so it does not tip on tight corners. The lid stays on with several redundant rings of rubber like material so it does not spill. The lid is perforated with small holes that allow liquid to flow at a speed consistent with drinking but not pour all over your seats if you drop it. I have done this before and of course some coffee came out but not much.

The best feature of this cup is its' heat retention or prevention if you have a cold drink. The walls of the cup appear to be double walled. Not very thick, but enough for a vacuum to exist. Heat cannot transfer through a vacuum, only thru mass. With reducing the heat loss to the bottom of the cup and top of cup thru the lid and small perforated holes my coffee stays hot a long time. In fact it is almost too good. If I refill my cup at a gas station, I actually leave the lid off until the coffee cools or it just never cools. I have had hot coffee stay hot for two plus hours. The name Thermos is appropriate. This is a thermos.

The 360 drink angle also is nice in that it prevents driping. I wear a white shirt and tie to work and have previously kept a second shirt in the office just in case I spill coffee on my shirt getting to work. Since I started using this cup I have had no spills and no need of the spare shirt.

The cup appears to be constructed out of stainless steel. No rust and an overall good look.

This is the type of everyday item that many people take for granted. When I look at it I can see the thought, time and effort to create the best cup possible. Clearly the people at Thermos drank coffee on the way to work or at least went out and asked people what they liked or did not like in a car coffee cup before designing it.

Now what it does not have is a handle. To me this is a bonus. Depending on the car cup holder, handles can get in the way and prevent use or require the cup to be oriented in a specific fashion.

Again, this coffee cup is the best I have ever used and I am a repeat buyer. No, I do not work for Thermos or otherwise have a conflict of interest. I am however an avid coffee drinker who commutes to work everyday and this is one of the small pleasures I enjoy everyday.

5.0 out of 5 stars great product, October 9, 2006
This review is from: Twin Pack 12-oz. Travel Mugs (Misc.)
I just ordered more of these. Simple efficient design does what its supposed to do. I like the "360 degree" lid. I put them in the dishwasher all of the time with no trouble. I have an automatic coffee/espresso machine and these are the only cups that fit under the dispenser.
