Like a beautifully composed piano composition, Twin Souls connects with readers - presenting a vampire novel that makes them question who the real monsters are.
-Booknut 101

It can be difficult to write about vampires after twilight since it became such a big hit so everyone who have read the books will compare them to other books in the same genre unless you come up with something unique. I really think Poe did that here!

    About the Author

K.A. Poe's books aim to remedy the limp, helpless heroine that plagues many paranormal and urban fantasy novels by introducing strong, kick-ass female leads. Combining suspense and adventure with non-explicit romance, her Nevermore and Forevermore series have enticed hundreds of thousands of readers. From vampires to witches and werewolves, you will find what hundreds of five-star reviews confirm - once you join the adventure, you'll never want to stop.

K.A. Poe's passions have always been writing and reading, escaping reality and starting adventures in worlds beyond the mundane familiarity of Earth. Full of imagination, creativity and wonderment, K.A. Poe almost always has a fresh idea in mind for a new tale to tell. When she isn't reading or writing she can be found playing video games or designing in Photoshop. She is a hoarder of colorful socks and admirer of squirrels and penguins (and by "admirer", this clearly means she squeals at the mere sight of either animal).

She resides in the deserts of Arizona with her husband and daughter. Accompanying the trio is K.A. Poe's writing assistant Aries (who happens to be a cat and doesn't do much in the way of assisting or writing, unless you consider sleeping on the keyboard helpful... ) and their two other furry companions - Lyra and Gemini.

4.0 out of 5 stars An awesome read that I highly recommend! July 8, 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition
This was an amazing read and it was such a close 5 star rating but It wasn't quite that good so I will give it 4.5 stars.

First I need to say that yes part of the book reminded me of twilight. But Poe really made this her own story and even though a few things reminded me of twilight she made it her own abd she did it good! I would say that it can be difficult to write about vampires after twilight since it bacame such a big hit so everyone who have read the books will compare them to other books in the same genre unless you come up with somrthing uniqe.

In a way Poe really did something different with this book!

I love the story between Alex and Salem! They are both intruiging characters and Salem does have that mysterious vibe about him that just makes you love him more! Alex is a strong female but she is not aware of it but when she comes to terms with what she is by blood and when she sort of accept it she aslo finds her strength!

The love story is great but perhaps a little fast in it's pace. Everything happens so quickly. Meeting - falling in love - moving in ...... A little fast but perhaps That was how it had to be for the story!

I loved this one! It is a mix between Twilight and Vampire academy but with it's own unique style! An awesome read that I highly recommend

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read. July 15, 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition
While the pacing of the story seemed to go very quickly and all the actions seemed a bit rushed, I think that the story itself was interesting. I found the characters to be realistic, and rounded. There was a touch of romance, a nice change from immediate sex, adventure and the paranormal. What more can you ask from a story!

An 18 year old would behave very much like Alexis did, everything in life is done 'right now', so, though I felt the falling in love was rushed, perhaps viewed from the 18 yr old viewpoint, it isn't so unusual.

I enjoyed Twin Souls (Nevermore, Book 1) and will look for others by Ms. Poe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Balanced entertainment March 17, 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition
    By: critique god

I give this book 4stars based on the author's ability at balance of the plot, characters ,visual inducing descriptives, and fun entertainment. Kinda reads like Buffy the vampire slayer, but I'm hoping the sequels will change that. This is a well written book and worth reading. A bit weak, but hopefully as I have said, that will change with the sequels......hopefully.

4.0 out of 5 stars soo many secrets January 17, 2014

Being abandoned by your dad was one thing, but when your mom walks out on you too, what do you do? Alexis is going to be 18 soon and things in her life have suddenly gotten more complicated than she bargained for. Feeling completely abandoned, she does her best to go on with her life while her dad left a long time ago and her mom just left to go live elsewhere with her boyfriend, Mark. Her best friends, Karen and Jason, do their best to cheer her up, but should Alexis even care anymore? Interestingly enough, she meets a mysterious new guy at school that is showing quite a bit of interest in Alex while her life is going down the drain. She ends up going to his house and after midnight on her 18th birthday, he has to explain that she is from a line of vampire hunters and her mom and dad were not her real parents. Her Uncle Paul is her real father and her real mother has been dead for a long time. Paul hid Alex in order to protect her from the monsters he was hunting. But the twist is that Salem, the new guy from school, is a vampire too. He just doesn't drink human blood. And he can conjure pretty much anything he wants to, food included. The more that she gets to know Salem, the less she thinks he is a monster. In fact, she really likes him and he cares for her very deeply. But Paul is a hard case and feels like all vampires are monsters. Then Alex sees her mother on t.v. after having been mauled by a bear. She was in the hospital, but alive. Alex has a bad feeling about what is going on, thinking that it was a vampire, like Mark. Salem doesn't think it's him at first because he used to be like Salem. But after a series of strange and short conversations with Alex's mom, Salem grows more suspicious of Mark being the perpetrator. Read more ›

1.0 out of 5 stars Strangely unemotional, illogical string of happenings February 3, 2015
    By Cloudy
    Format:Kindle Edition
This is one of the worst books I've ever read. I could not relate to any of the characters at all. Mostly that was the case because I never knew how they were feeling, or if it was described, it was so far off the normal chart that I re-read whole paragraphs thinking I must have missed something vital. No more books by this author.
Let me give a few examples rather than trying to put in words how incomprehensible I found this book.

    ### SPOILER ALERT ###

The book starts with the main character Alexis being abandoned by her mother at the verge of her 18th birthday. Her mother leaves her a letter explaining how she is moving in with her boyfriend and seeing Alexis was unhappy at the prospect of moving, she will be better off staying where she is and her mother will earn enough money at her new workplace to keep her afloat.
Really? A woman raises her child for almost 18 years and then decides to just leave her behind without even discussing things with her?
Just as bizarre is Alexis' reaction to that: A bit of a shock initially and then she just goes on and has her birthday party the day after.

While this woman seems to think an 18 year old doesn't have much to contribute when thinking about taking such an enormous step, she at the same time decides Alexis is old enough to be told who she really is: a vampire hunter.
These news however are for some obscure reason being delivered by her natural arch enemy, a vampire. Of course it is a beautiful one looking close to her age and they fall in love.

It all seemed like bits and pieces taken out of other stories and randomly stringed together.

The dialogues were eye roll inducing:
"Did you try out your new laptop?
