The loft bed we ordered looks great. It was easy to assemble and matches our existing furniture well. The only downfall was that it must have been stained right before being put in the box because the wood was sticky and the box stuck to some of the wood. It was easy to clean off but the wood remained sticky for a few days. My son loves it and it stands high enough that he can be under it easily. I would recommend this bed.

We ordered 2 of these to surprise our daughters (6 & 10) with a remodeled bedroom for Christmas. We were worried when we unpacked the boxes they would be flimsy. Wow we were wrong!!! The beds went together and easily, quickly & are MUCH sturdier than we thought. As to the 1000# weight baring, so far (over the holidays) some of the teenagers took it as a challenge. I think they got 6 200# boys up there, NOTHING happened. I was so happy. My 60# daughter will be safe.
Beautifully assembled.
DRAW BACK: they smelled weird. It took 2 days for the smell to dissipate.

My son's room is small so I thought I would get him this then make a sitting area under it. It would work great if he wasn't 5'10" already. If he sits up in the bed he will hit his head and he fits literally top to bottom. If he grows another inch he will be hanging off of the bed. But the product is sturdy and great for the average size child or smaller teen.

Our daughter loves it. It is much sturdier than anything we looked at in local stores. Very sturdy. It took my husband about an hour to put together by himself. If he had a helper, it would have been even quicker. Highly recommended loft.

This is a very solid piece of furniture. It assembles easily and was not missing any pieces. It did move more that I liked, so I bolted the bed to the wall to prevent any movement at all.

I wanted a loft bed that could hold an adult that wasn't queen or full size. And I also wanted something sturdier than the metal frames they sell for dorms. So I finally opted for this one, being the only thing in my price range. Ikea has a nice loft bed for a similar price (after shipping), but not in twin.

So I ordered it.

1. It is pretty high up there. This is a good thing. I have 10 ft ceilings and little floor space so it feels like I have an upstairs bedroom.

2. Pretty sturdy. I'm looking into options for stabilizing the frame against the wall. It's a little rickety, but I need to retighten the screws after settling per instructions.

3. I was a little sketch on the bedslats. They seem pretty flimsy. I might rectify by buying slats from ikea and laying them over. They hold me, though. Haven't tested the "1,000 pounds" claim.

Overall, it's great, especially for the price. And with my memory foam mattress, super comfortable. I would recommend it.

We purchased this bed for our daughter who will be turning 5 in about a week and she absolutely loves it; she calls it her "golden bed". The design is simple and matches the exsiting furniture perfectly. My husband was very impressed with the quality of wood too, no partical board. We did experience "oozing" from the wood; my husband explained to me that it was sap from the tree and we fondly remembered the movie "Christmas Vacation" and got a great chuckle out of it. It took a little under an hour for him to install with no problem. Many reviewers have stated this is a simple design that one can easily design and build on their own; which it is. During assembly my husband kept telling me how he could of designed and built it for less that what I paid for it. The problem with that is he already has a laundry list of To Do's and I wanted this bed assembled now so we didn't argue too much on that. Like many other reviewers we did attach the bed to the wall to give it more stability. The bed is rated for 6 years old and older but she doesn't have a problem with sleeping on it at all. Since my daughter shares her room with her baby brother and his crib is underneath, my husband put the bed on the highest setting so I could have a bit more "head room" to get the baby. With the bed at the highest point, I felt she didn't have enough protection from falling off so we put one of the bed rails for toddlers under the mattress. She is used to it from sleeping on her sisters bed. My husband is going to go back and add more railing to it because the baby gets up there and wants to play with her and it will only be a matter of time before he plunges off. I liked the idea of using the side to climb up the bed as there isn't enough room for extra stuff in their bedroom.Read more ›

this is a great deal but you need to understand what you are getting. the bed is essentially made out of knotted yellow pine 2x4's. the kind of wood that's used to frame a house. it's easy to bolt together. the dimensions are perfect for a small kid's room. the ikea beds were too tall for a standard 8 foot ceiling. this bed is the perfect height to put a beanbag chair or a small table underneath. using the end of the bed as a ladder saves space. we removed the rail at the end so it's easier for out daughter to climb in. yes, the bed wobbles but that's unavoidable with this kind of loft design. i'm planning a trip to the hardware store and will screw the bed to the studs in the bedroom wall. that should fix the wobbling. i also found that ikea $15 gooseneck clamp on led lights work well with it.

we had some damaged pieces during shipping but roomdoctor was very responsive and shipped replacement parts right away.
