5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good
The premise is realistic and the added bits of romance and angst remind me so much of my junior high/middle school years. The basic story is that Jess has to plan a dance for Homecoming, so she gets all her friends to help, forgetting that some don't get along. One of the subtle themes that SV seems to be portraying more and more is to keep an open mind--don't judge on...

3.0 out of 5 stars the mistakes bothered me, but still good
I would have given this book a higher rating, but it had hugemistakes! There is no grade 6 in Jr High (yet there was a 6th gradeteacher mentioned), and there is no Homeroom (yet there was). I wish the author(s) would keep their facts straight! Other than that, I thought it was good. I have completely fallen in love with Damon! He is so sweet, especially how he wanted to...

The premise is realistic and the added bits of romance and angst remind me so much of my junior high/middle school years. The basic story is that Jess has to plan a dance for Homecoming, so she gets all her friends to help, forgetting that some don't get along. One of the subtle themes that SV seems to be portraying more and more is to keep an open mind--don't judge on appearance or first impressions. In middle school and high school, this is definitely a theme that should be explored more. Ronald Rheece seems to be a total geek, Bethel very opinionated, and Kristin very superficial, but as the characters get to know one another, it becomes blatantly obvious that everyone has assets and faults, and that we can overcome them if we just keep open minds. This, in itself made the book excellent, but the clincher was the Damon-Jessica romance. Those two are destined to be together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, November 11, 1999
By A Customer
This book was great! I have read books 1-10 in this series so far and I have loved every book. If you are a twin than this book is for you. Jessica and Elizabeth switched places. Even though Liz didn't really want to, she was nice and did it anyway. If you have read other Sweet Valley Jr. High books, You get to find out what happend between Jessica and Damon. I recomend this book for anyone from grades 5- 8 th grade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, March 9, 2000

This is the best SVJH book that I have read.By far! It was quite surprising how Elizabeth agreed to switch places with Jessica.I think that Jessica should have remembered that her friends don't get along with each other before she chose her dance party commitee members. And Damon is the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Good!, December 28, 2000
A Kid's Review
This book was good! Jessica gets in trouble, but instead of having week-long detention, she gets to be head of the homecoming dance committe! She thinks she'll be able to put all her friends on it, so they can all be friends, but disaster strikes! They all start fighting. Jessica gets so fed up with it! Elizabeth volunteers to take Jessica's place, but the dance committe finds out! I won't spoil the ending, but its really good! Please go to escape.to/sweetvalleycentral to find out more about Sweet Valley!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can the homecoming be saved?, September 2, 2000
This was one of my favorites in the series. Jessica gets put in charge of the homecoming committee and gets all her new friends to join. But instead of getting along, all her friends are constantly at each other's throats! Finally she's so fed up that Elizabeth, taking pity on the situation, agrees to switch with Jess and take over the committee. But the committee members know Jess too well and figure out that the girls switched. But they decide not to let on they know and do their best to make the dance terrific! Plus Damon wants to ask Jessica to the dance... if only he can get up the nerve, he'll make it the best night ever for her. ('if' being the operative word) My favorite scene was when Jessica ended up going to Liz's zone meeting. It was so funny! I can't believe that the Zone members didn't recognize Jessica! This was a great book- must read in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book!, December 15, 1999

This is a great book! Basically, Jess has to plan the Homecoming dance as a "punishment" and that's exactly what it ends up being! In despair she asks Elizabeth to change with her and she agrees. I don't want to ruin the rest, but I'll just say that Damon is a 1 in a million guy and I wish he went to MY school!

5.0 out of 5 stars Trouble with Homecoming Comittee and The Zone, April 21, 2005
When Jessica gets in trouble for kill the whales, which is one of their nemisis's mascots,a science teacher thinks she wants to kill the whales. Jessica along with Damon,go to Mr.Todd[The SVJH principal]'s office. He instruct's her to go to detention. Damon has a better idea, since the head of the Homecoming committee has moved, why not have Jessica head Homecoming this year. She gets, Anna,Damon,Ronald,Salvadore,Bethel to work on the commitee. nothing goes as planned,so She and Elizabeth switch places like in middle school.Everybody knows it's them, because Jessica had a bruise on her leg and Elizabeth didn't.

Well, to starts off, this is one of the better ones of Francine Pascals books. I read alot of sweet valley (not only jr.high, but senior year, etc.) and I've seen some ok ones and some great ones. But this is 1 out of the 2 best ones. I'll probably change my mind when the next one come out, but who cares? This is great.
