Product Description

Jude Deveraux

entwines the frontier adventures of two unforgettable sisters -- demure beauty Houston Chandler and her independent, hot-tempered twin Blair -- who discover heartfelt passions as powerfully compelling as ice and fire....

Twin of Ice

Happily betrothed to Dr. Lee Westfield, Houston is every bit the good girl she was raised to be. So when faced with Kane Taggert's brash marriage proposal, Houston is outwardly shocked. But beneath her gracious demeanor lies a woman of hidden longings -- and her defenses begin to melt the second this rugged stranger touches his hungry lips to hers.

Meet Houston's impetuous sister, Blair Chandler, in Jude Deveraux's Twin of Fire -- available from Pocket Books!

5.0 out of 5 stars TWIN OF ICE IS MY ALL-TIME FAVOURITE, August 13, 1999
By A Customer
I must have read Twin of Ice about 3 times now and I just love Houston & Kane. Their chemistry was superb and characters so real, although less-than-perfect. I love the scene when they first met in a shop where some ladies were passing nasty remarks about Kane and Houston just told them off in such a classic way! Although people think that Houston made a big mistake by agreeing to marry Kane, the match was actually very good when you think about it. She was able to put all her training to good use by running his household! Best thing is underneath her cool exterior, she was one hot lady indeed! And to think that she could actually have married that boring Leander who couldn't even distinguish between her and her twin Blair. Twin of Fire, by comparison pales against this first book. Somehow I was not able to feel for Blair & Lee the way I felt for Houston & Kane. After reading the fiasco between Blair & Lee in Twin of Ice, I just felt that Lee must be the goonest man alive not to be able to tell the twins apart. And Blair actually slept with her sister's fiance! Try as I did to think that her passion is romantic, I couldn't. You should read Twin of Fire for completeness but for me, I could not remember the story. Conclusion? Twin of Ice is worth a read over and over again and fans of Jude Deveraux should not miss it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kane & Houston are adorable!, May 7, 2001
By A Customer
TWIN OF ICE is one of my all-time favorite books written by Jude Deveraux. I find myself picking it up anytime I want to smile. Kane is not your typical hero (but none of Jude's heroes are typical, are they?). He is extremely wealthy with the manners of a pig. But Houston makes him appear to be the great man he is inside. And in return Kane brings out the fun-loving, spirited woman who is thought to be an ice princess by others. The dialogue is hilariious and spirited. Overall, it is defintely a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a goodun, June 15, 2005
Okay i'm a little upset and one of the reviewers for saying Kane isn't smart. Just becasue someone isnt educated the way society deems smart doesn't mean they arn't. Albert Einstien flunked Geometry for goodness sakes.
Okay i vented i'm better.
NOT!!!
How could anyone say you can't pic Kane as the hero. How could you say you can't pic him as hott?
Have you ever been to Texas people? We may not sound smart with the accent's we may not even act smart all the time but we sure as heck have the sexyest guys around. Kane's gotta little bit of a Texas twang thats all. Who wouldn't want a hunk like him?
Okay i really am done venting...
Houston Chandler was societys ideal lady, unlike her twin sister Blair Chandler. Houston went to finishing school, her step father thinks she's perfect (unlike her sister lol) and Leander the well respected doctor wants to marry her, and she of course wants to marry him...right? Than how come every time he kisses her or touches her in a intimate way she is repulsed? She assumes kissing a man isn't suposed to be enjoyable for the woman and it's something a lady is suposed to tolerate when she gets married. Than when the less then sophisticated but very rich Kane Taggert pulls her into a dark corner and asks her over to his mansion over the hill...how can she refuse? She's always wanted to see the inside of that house, but she already has plans with Leander. So her sister goes in her place dressed like Houston.
So in the mean time Kane proposes to Houston...(of course she declines) Blair sleeps with Leander, with Leander still thinking it's Houston, and when Leander finds out it wasn't...boy is he mad. But than suddenly Houston is jilted and Leander wants to marry Blair. Than suddently Houston accepts Kane and starts to fall in love with this great hunk of a guy. Kane makes her feel more like her self. He turns her into the person she is afraid too be
